I really liked RUNE by BWS, and LORD PUMPKIN, SLUDGE, PRIME.. I even have some original art pages from Lord Pumpkin and Sludge, great art work I thought

Thread needs moving as noted above, methinks.
I am building up my Ultraverse collection at the same time as my VALIANT. The books are a lot flashier, possibly at the expense of stories, but there was some good stuff. Lord Pumpkin looked very cool, and I enjoyed the Rune books and the concepts behind it. Like later VALIANT, I think the Ultraverse strayed from it's original premise (and ground rules) in latter stories.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I loved BWS' work on Rune some his best IMHO but after he left the bookSquirrel wrote:I really liked RUNE by BWS, and LORD PUMPKIN, SLUDGE, PRIME.. I even have some original art pages from Lord Pumpkin and Sludge, great art work I thought
no one else could do the character justice.
Know this: I would rather be hated for being honest for my opinions, than being loved as a liar!

Rune wasn't RUNE when BWS left him. He looked like Venom...on a bad hair day!

You wound me with your sly criticism of my sense of aesthetics!Chiclo wrote:This thread just turned gay!leonmallett wrote:But terrible asymmetrical costume though if you ask me! the clour scheme was good, and the design or either side of the costume, but the asymmetry just seemed stupid and overdone.

This was a fun auction to watch, even if it does seem like a lot of money for a convention sketch and a broken frame ...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1
There were two bidders going tit-for-tat for several days, just pecking the price higher and higher ... then somebody else came in at the last minute and sniped 'em.
