A lot of people dont get the actual 'kudos' that they deserve these days but I want to take a moment to point out a few individuals who have really came through for me on a couple of things that they really didnt have to but out of the goodness of their hearts and most of all friendship, a few people rose to the occasion and I want to thank them very much for their generosity and friendship... both qualities are in short supply it appears these days.
To magnusr.... THANK YOU for the Solar book addition that got me one more book closer to being at 100% on my Valiant collection (I would list the others that I need to get to 100% but that has not worked in the past). magnusr, THANKS.
To Stu... this guy sent me a near complete run of Captain America 100-143 as a 'retirement present' and I have to say that this one really blew me away. Not only was it a FANTASTIC and appropriate retirement gift but just the fact that he remembered was enough. This got me back into Silver Age Marvel comics in a BIG WAY. Thank you Stu.
Then it was depluto's and mr.woogieman's turn as both sent me a a nice set of mixed books from Marvel. From Iron Man, Avengers, and Captain America (which helped fill a few holes in the Stu collection) but Daredevil as well. All of which are GREATLY appreciated and have 'flamed on' my love for all things Marvel once again. Thank you guys...
Last but not least as 'kudos' should be a MUST around here, I want to thank Elveen who out of the graciousness of his heart sent to me a very nice set of Crossgen books which helped me finish out a few of those titles. Crossgen being my second favorite Dead Universe aside from Valiant, it is on my #1 list to finish so that I can start reading these great books and Elveen being the great and thoughtful person that he is... helped me get just that much closer.
So to all that I have mentioned thank you very much for your generosity and most of all friendship.
And to answer the unusual number of PMs (due to a cryptic post on here), yes I have retired from the Army and have already started working at my new job. I am not looking for another round of "
" as I do not need any thanks for doing my duty, I just want to affirm what so many thought but never got a real answer to.
And yes it was also my birthday on 11 November.... but more importantly "Happy Birthday MOTA"

And look... not a freakin' gay-bob comment in the whole post.

Alyssa would like to thank Marley and Macen Probition for the nice birthday package (Alyssa's birthday is on 10 December, she will be 3 years old) that she received yesterday. It is very nice when people do nice things for others and therefore I think that it should be made known about the good things that happen through this board that are done out of friendship.

It seems to me that many people that deserve thanks, often don't get it..... I want to try and rectify that situation.....
BTE, sent me some very cool Signed Acclaim books out of the goodness of his heart, we had discussed Acclaim on the phone a few times, and low and behold, I get some in the mail...... a very cool gesture indeed!
KC, has continued to give me GREAT prices and has spend alot of time putting together boxes for me of common books, the effort alone is worth a kudos, because the payoff for him is unsubstantial. Thanks KC.
Jedi, I don't actually want to list the specifics, but let me just say, he is a giving man...... thank you Jedi.......
Heath, offered me some books of my want list, I then told him that I was a bit uncomfortable about taking them form him, ...... I had made a mistake with another member in a similar situation...... but he assured me that he wanted to help me and that he wanted to do it..... I have thanked him for the kind offer...... but I have been shown that the kudos thread is the place for such thanks..... so Heath, my Stone Cold brother...... thank you.....
Kinghtt, I can't even begin to list what he has done for me (there is too many books to name)...... needless to say it has included books that I might never get around to having if it wasn't for him...... (golds and VFVSS included) ..... he even introduced me to Astro City..... and that alone is worth a big time kudos.... but it is even more that that....... if anyone on this board deserves a kudos from me, and there are alot of people (mentioned in previous posts & this post) it is Knightt......
If I am forgetting anyone I am sorry....... ever good deed should be reciprocated, even though most if not all good deeds are done out of friendship and kindness...... everyone likes a kudos.......
I was shown the "spirit" of these boards long ago by my man Dac55, and all of my "transactions" (Hulkman, BroJ, ckb, RQB, Slym, just to name a few) have been great experiences for me......
my actual reading runs are now almost finished..... I get to read "new" VALIANTS ever week...... why?????
the dudes on this board.......
again, if I have forgotten anyone...... truely, sorry......
as for the rest ........ thank you.........

svair rocks!
Why? Do you have to ask? Really?
Let start with the recent and work backward.
Solar statue. Yeah, Sean did the sculpt and paint and I don't mean to take anything away from him, because they look awesome, but svair got the ball rolling and set up the business side of it. Sean made 'em great, svair made 'em available for us!
He hooked me up with one of my last two books to get to 100%, the Diamond Unity TPB Vol 2. And he was patient while I was (in my usual fashion) absent minded and badly distracted.
The Harbinger VfVSS. Possilby the most kick *SQUEE* project since they were started. No, there's no remarks, but it's a sweet book and he got some great people to sign it. Then there are the bonuses! It only got better and better!
THANK YOU SVAIR!!!!!!

Wow, that is INCREDIBLE. I sure hope I am blessed with a hookup like that someday. (oh dont think that I have not, I recently was blessed with a Unity TPB boxed set and a Solar TPB Hardcover !!!)MagnusRF wrote:He hooked me up with one of my last two books to get to 100%, the Diamond Unity TPB Vol 2.
I've been advertising for a while now for a:
CEAR
Eternal Warrior 27 VVSS
Unity Diamond TPBs
Harbinger TPB blue bird
Visitor $2.50 variants
Anyone... ANYONE... Beuller ? (cricket cricket) I have even offered to pay real money... not the swelled prices of the price guide but you know what I mean, my friends.

I tell ya, I DID do a SWEET deal for a Psi-Lords VVSS, Timewalker VVSS, Shadowman gold, Birth of the Defiant Universe and a Miracle on Broadway recently, THANKS to THAT board member (please post here about it dude, if you wouldnt mind cause ya did good, buddy as I am estatic about my end of the deal). And get this, I actually pad REAL money for some of these as well, coupled with some nice books in trade. It is GREAT when a 'brother' gets a hand.
Sweet JESUS, what a true statement... all those fantastic sigs... HOW many where there ? Awesome. And even through there were no remarks, this projects simply 'takes the cake' and overshadows all that have come before. I can see why people are going ape$hit over it.MagnusRF wrote:The Harbinger VfVSS. Possibly the most kick *SQUEE* project since they were started. 'Here, here... grrrrrrrrreat job on that one svair.'

oh yeah, and thanks for Elveen for the kind words above. No worries, MY FRIEND. It was just a few golds and a few VVSS with some books you need to hopefully finish out your collection. If I had it extra, it was YOURS, prices be damned. As I have said before, "Thats the way we live around here baby." Just helping people out with their collections and watching each others backs as friends are supposed to do. And thanks for that phone call that one time a while back. Being the ONLY one to call me about it (albeit to catastrophic failure) and I appreciate that. Honestly, that is TRULY trying to provide covering fire to a friend... although I gotta stop with the damn Army jargon. Went to my LAST military function as retiree (with a goatee, THAT went over well... hhahahahaha) on Friday night (Christmas party) and was treated like TOTAL $hit (nobody from the 'staff' even took the time to come back and talk to us) as I got sat in the back at the 'retiree' table. The last to eat so that meant NO freakin' desert. Ahh well, I took my wife to my first COMPANY (General Dynamics IT) party last night and let me tell you, it was like walking into a family Reunion. We were treated SO well. Simply wonderful people... I can hope that things are this great with this company for years to come. It was VERY classy... something like 90 door prizes as well, they gave away a $800 cash prize, a 32" flat panel TV, a 30 gig iPod, a home theater system and SO much more. It was nice... I was hoping for:
CEAR
Eternal Warrior 27 VVSS
Unity Diamond TPBs
Harbinger TPB blue bird
Visitor $2.50 variants
But I think that they were saving those for the execs.

Anyways, CONGRATS to all the above who have exceeded in their generosity. Kudos are defiantly in order but lets not as a message board FAMILY forget to echo those Kudos who keep the spirit of this message board alive. Whether people say it or not, they still like to hear good stuff back for the good things that they have done (I regretably have fallen victem to this in the near past

I got another one to shout out and that is to Ric (Byrneout), that dude is still pumping it out to get enough money to succeed in his Shriner's burn unit fund raiser. NOTHING more nobler than helping children in pain, especially if they are in the hospital 'IN PAIN' on Christmas. I know it is Christmas time but if you could rub two pennies together to continue to help THOSE KIDS in that burn unit on Christmas, please do so.

No problem, I'm still surprised how many of the Ultraverse painted variants this guy had laying around. I thought those things were supposed to be rare or something...Knightt wrote:THANKS to Brother J who sent me two Ultraverse 'painted' covers that I was needing.
