Quantum & Woody

Post by Thomas Crown »

I am all about VH1 but I'm not sure about VH2. I have recently been considering grabbing some Quantum & Woody issues. What do you guys think? Is it worth the trouble?

I never read Quantum and Woody, but when I asked about VH2 awhile back, a bunch of people said I should pick up Quantum and Woody, that it was really a great book.

I can't vouch for that, since I never did pick it up and refuse to read VH2, but that's what a lot of folks swore to...

Yes, you must pick up Quantum & Woody. You can read Quantum & Woody without having to read any other VH2 title if you wish. So, just forget about it being any way related to Valiant. It is what it is. And what it is is hillarious and well worth picking up.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

In my opinion it is the best VH2 stuff out there. :thumb:

I am hopeful that Valiant Entertainment will publish them again at some point. :hope:

Personally, I liked the title, but if you are expecting anything close to pre unity stuff you'll be dissapointed. I would try to pick up the first 4 or 5 issues to see whether you like the characters and premise.

YES! Q&W is one of my fav comics ever. Pre-unity is a different beast. I compare Q&W to the best of Marvel, DC, Image etc. :thumb: :thumb:

:thumb: Q+W is IMO one of the best comics ever. It was the diamond in the rough of the VH2 universe.

Q&W was definitely a good series and worth reading. The series has little or nothing to do with the other books so it can be read by itself. However, if you are looking to read books that relate better to VH1 either by story, quality, or style, check out the following also:

Armorines V2........if you liked V1 you'll love V2
Dr. Tomorrow........maybe the best post-VH1 series but no tie-ins as I recall
Solar (mota, rev, and HOE).........must reads before any other VH2/3 books because they explain so much
Unity 2000.......because Jim contributed :thumb:

These are definitely worth reading. Two :thumb: :thumb: You should be able to find the run for about $1/issue --- and who can ever forget that famous bathroom scene?

Can you imagine walking in on two dudes doing that?

Yep, this was the consensus the other time I asked, too. 8-)

I guess one day I'll have to see if I can find them cheap and pick 'em up.

All you dudes that like Quantum and Woody, you ought to check out Priest's run on Black Panther. It's got a similar tone and some of them are absolutely *SQUEE* brilliant.
