Bloodshot 0 Gold/Plat - just when you thought it was over...

Post by greg »

Well, guys, just when we thought the "news" around
Bloodshot 0 Gold and Platinum was over...
we have a new book to discuss.

Bloodshot 0 Gold AND Platinum.

From the looks of it, the Gold ink was getting low during the printing process
and like the "Platinum printing error" missing the gold ink, the "rippled areas"
where the gold is a little weak show the chromium underneath.

Thoughts?

It's a defective gold. Send something like that to cgc and I'm almost positive they would mark it as such. And to make a new category for the sake of one error book (as opposed to 25? :? ) is some what a stretch. :thumb:

Even though I think it is an error. It sure does look cool.

I have some Ninjak 1's that seem to have the same issue with the Red ink on the letters, I've always wondered what was up with that. I think it is very similar to this.

Yeah it looks like fog or smoke clouding the color. You can call it the Bllodshot 0 Fog edition or something!

A friend just picked up a couple of ploybagged TPBs with printing errors. We were joking that one is a "setting sun" Rai TPB because the red sun on the front actually goes from white at the top to red at the bottom (Companion is fine). In addition, the circle on Rai's chest is not red. He also snagged a copy of the Valiant Era TPB (sealed as well) that has a different color as well. I will see if he can scan them so I can post the pics here over the weekend.

Cheers,
Skiw

I've got a friend with three eyes and 14 toes. He loves to collect stuff like this for some reason.

Actually, I made that up.

Never mind. :P

Are printing errors generally worth more or what? I don't have any Valiant comics with errors, unles they were printed with creases and so forth :D

But I have some X-title, it looks like when they were making the comic, and cutting the pages, or whatever they do, the corner of one page was left with excess paper sticking off of it. I also have a JLA issue that came straight from the drug store's comic book self, with half the back page missing.

Printing errors are only worth something if there's a demand for it. Just like any other books. But in general, since printing errors are not that common, people tend to pay a bit more for it.

As for Greg's pictured bloodshot book, even tho it's an inking issue, I still considered it a partial error as it was not supposed to be released to the public like that. Still the value should never reach the heights as a bloodshot plat, which is purely a printing error.

Of all the printing errors I've seen so far, I still haven't seen any other errors as whacked out as the Archer & Armstrong 2. If those of you haven't seen it yet, I posted pics not too long ago on the forums. Take a looksee and lemme know whatcha thing.

Logically...

A Bloodshot platinum should be worth about the same as the new gold and plat, which should be worth the same as a gold...or about $20.

You know, for a while there, I used to think "Man, I'd love to have a BS plat...for completion sake, you know. Then I started thinking, it's an error, screw it!

Errors in comic books are often worth less, unlike in coins.
