I enjoy being involved in this Valiant community......Don't get me wrong.

I'll get straight to the point. The sterile white background is starting to give me an institutional feeling. Bland, boring, sterile etc.

Can there be any changes in the future for the "look"?

My $0.02... I hate colored backgrounds. I especially detest pattern backgrounds. White is clean and doesn't interfere with the data being presented.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

i agree with heath...it's simple and doesn't detract from my reading.

i'm not opposed to adding some flair elsewhere to the site...but i like the message board area to be as clean as possible.

I prefer to keep the board area clean and uncluttered also. To add busy backgrounds would detract from the wit and wisdom :D

I also think that a white background is great. It's simple and makes the eye focus on important things. And...

I...

hate...

textured...

backgrounds...

White is ok. :D

There used to be a way to make snowflakes appear across the screen. I seem to remember DP talking about that quite some time ago. Not that anyone would want that mind you....

I currently have no problem with the "look" of the site. A far bigger annoyance, IMO, is having to scroll left to right when reading certain threads.

Agreed. :thumb:

I LIKE the white background myself. It makes it easy to read. Some of the sites with background textures are so hard to read and they are so... clutered looking, ya know?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, PLEASE don't change the white background! I love it. Its the best. It is clean and uncluttered and I've always thought from day 1 it looks awesome.

With a good CSS design and templated pages with side bar this place would really kick_*SQUEE*. Most of the really cool info is buried under "everything else". Do you know that if you block images (Firefox) as I do because of dial-up connection all you get is a white page becasue everything is an image?

Took me ten minutes to figure it out

OK. I do now agree with you all on keeping the white background. But some new stuff would be nice...

I've gotten really used to the look of this place, but i'wouldn't be opposed to some changes. But i'll admit i don't frequent any other boards. So ...i don't know...maybe ignorance is bliss on my part.

Agreed on having to scroll to read messages.

Also, I don't like having to put something in the subject line on every post, only to have it not show up. And if you forget to put something in the subject line, your post jumps to a new thread. That makes no sense to me.

Otherwise, the site is cool. Those are the only two things I'd change.

I agree. I think that the board looks good as it is.

But what do I know? I'm just a caveman. I fell in some ice, and was thawed out by some of your scientists. Your world frightens and confuses me.
