Seems reasonable. Seeing that summary on Mothergod reminds me just how brilliant the idea of her character really was. Not really a villain, just confused, a little crazy, and a snappy dresser.........see-through :thumb:

I never really got why Jim thought it was important to put that in the storyline, other than to show that Erica was totally nuts. Maybe he just did it for the shock value.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

i figure he was trying to push the envelope...but it did make sense that an unbalance formerly abused woman who was quite lonely might go that direction instead of looking for another guy to replace bert...it fits the psychological profile is what i'm saying...and was shocking...

just another way to show how out of kilter she was...was it really a surprising turn of events??? I don't think so...she was wacked and depraved.

again, i agree, remember that in the wormhole or whatever, her daddy kept coming in to beat her in her recurring nightmare, then she marries an abusive guy, then she gains this ultimate power, and there was no way she was going to be controlled again...so no way would she enter any relationship with even the semblance of a traditional male/female relationship...so she looked for someone she could control (and even that kinda backfired on her)

I don't think Shooter was throwing it in for shock value. She was a victim herself and then when she got absolute power she ended up doing the exact same thing... and we also saw that with Albert as well when he took his aggression out on the bims.

You kind of get a contrast with the Archer character in that his parents were abusive and sexually deprived as well, but he ended up on the good side.

I can't remember what was the plan if Erica actually succeeded. Was the whole universe going to be rebooted back to perfection or would they have all just continued living in the Lost Land? If they were going to reboot it, maybe she had the intention of righting the wrong done to her by never allowing it to happen.

Also remember that from her perspective she didn't consider herself Albert's mother, he was that other Erica's son. It was all part of her delusion that everything was chaotic as a result of what Phil did.

For her there should only be one Erica Pierce, one Phil Seleski, one Albert Pierce, etc, etc... but once that was broken she didn't see herself as doing anything wrong with her own child, she was doing it with someone else's kid.

That's how she justified it to herself.

Archer's parents were psychotic but they hid their evil away from their son. Archer could have turned out like Erica Pierce.

Well, being the god that she thought she was.. she would have had ample power to not worry about clothes.. why do gods need clothes? Not for warmth.. nor asthetic appeal..

I bet she was a pretty sight;)
