Is there anything you would change about Pre Unity VALIANT

wouldn't the sentient alien armor resist him? or at least have alien sentient thought that would really be difficult for an earthling to deal with-especially one like aric who was already dealing with a world that had changed so drastically.
but the control ring is just that... control.....
after he was buried... the suit had plenty of time to educate him..... (but here is my question.... wouldn't his beard been longer???)
