List of LCS cleanout

Post by Escaflown4 »

I've been itching to start this thread since last week, but I've been getting a bit frustrated with my recent findings. What I want to do with this thread is have people list out the area of local comic stores that they visited and have already cleaned out the 'good' valiant stuff. What I mean by the 'good' stuff are the pre-unities, variants and final issues for cheap prices..... most preferably cover price and under. My point in doing this is to prevent other members wasting time looking in the same area. Yet I have a feeling somebody already cleaned out NYC....

Starting from last week, I had visited practically all the comic shops in the Fairfax region of Virginia including Vienna, Manassas, Annandale, Chantilly, Falls Church, Herndon and Sterling. It was a good trip as I did scored a bunch of pre-unity issues, a few final issues and the variant for Shadowman Vol 3 #2. :D

Since I returned back to New York City, I decided to do the same thing and hit up a master list of all the comic shops. The turn-up wasn't that good after visiting like 10-15 stores so far. I only managed to get a few more final issues like Bloodshot 51 & Harbinger 41. Also managed to get the $2.50 variants of Visitor v Valiant set. However, I did managed to find a store that had a bunch of pre-unities, but the owner was charging ebay prices which kinda scared me away. eg. Magnus #1, Rai #1, Solar #1 - $10 each. Overall I think somebody already beat me to the punch and cleaned out most of the stores. I still need to check the stores in Queens and Brooklyn, but I will post it here if I manage to find anything.

I can say with confidence that Kansas City is "Valiant Free" of anything worth while. :thumb:

And as you know, no one in LA has had any Valiant worth noting for years.

Golden Apple
House of Secrets
Kings Comics and Cards

There are a few others, but again, all worthless.

No, downtown, vault of the midnight. Fun-4-all had a bunch of valiants in thier 50cent bin, but nothing good.. maybe some end-run ew.

what is on stadium? I only know of fun-4-all, vault of the midnight, and one (i forget its name) on campus. I mainly do my buying at comic city in canton.. they don't really have backissues though.

Closest LCBS's in my area are In Danville, IL (SUCK!!) and 3 in Lafayette, IN. and I have scoured them all. Made some good scores, but they all have since died up for the last 6 months.

Greg, can we get this thread pinned on the top or something.

This is good info for peepz trying to clean out Valiants from their LCS. :D

san diego has been tapped out for months now, and after the Con, you can't find much of anything else either.

I've taken care of most of Houston.

Bedrock City (all 4 locations)
Third Planet
Troy's

Nan's has many Valiants, but they are all priced at pre-bust levels and they WILL NOT come down at all.

Have searched through most of the stores in Des Moines, IA, Omaha, NE, and Springfield, MO. There is a store down here who has a lot of earlier Valiant stuff, but he wants cover or more for it.
