What has been the trend here is not to get something 'cheap' for the auctions.... it's for charity !!! :thumb:

All bids are good, my friends.

I tell you... the generosity of this board NEVER fails to amaze me year after year. There are behind the scenes things going on that are GREAT.

People donating stuff BACK to the fund raiser that they have won, people bidding crazy money on stuff, people doubling donations for won items or the VfVSS...

Geez, I must be on my period cause I am getting choked up... or that early morning get me started tequila went down the wrong way.

It is hard to break the ebay watch/bid habit. I had to keep telling myself...it's for charity, bid early hopfully it will go up. Still trying to get a bargin mindset  not an easy thing to overcome

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

OK. I have no problem telling anyone that I am trying to help them out.

So, how exactly does your site work, CS? If someone "misses" this year's deadline, can they make a donation right away, or is it only open during a certain time period?

It is open only a certain time. Anyone can donate to the CFF during any time of the year, I am sure they have protocals set up for that. But 'our' Team Alyssa site will be turned off sometime close to the CF Walkathon that we do here (Sept 16) I am just not exactly sure when. If the site is turned off or the 'deadline is missed' I have no idea where it goes and definately no way of tracking who donate what or how much.

I think I see what you are getting at... you can donate to the CFF without using the Team Alyssa site. The money gets to where it needs to go, i.e. cure research but as far as Team Alyssa and Valiantfans.com, those fund raising activities only run for the life of the fund raiser/website. I can try and start up another Team Alyssa CF site as soon as possible if you want to get an early start on next year but I dont know how long that will take.

If you would like... call me.
