I think I'm going to have to go with Magnus as well... no real lofty reasons... I just remember enjoying reading it more.
And Rai is a badass.
Flipbooks are generally annoying, but the Magnus ones were really cool.
Just one note on continuity...
the issue of whether one book ties in with other books seem to be more of an issue of community vs. continuity. imo, continuity and community aren't necessarily the same thing, nor is one required for the other to be present. I actually like a feeling of community among several books and characters than I do continuity throughout a single book/story. Which goes against me choosing Magnus, I suppose...
but still... Magnus it is.

For me, that's true for both of them. They're both just so darned good. They're like the Beatles were to music - they showed how much better music (or comic books) could be than it was. There's just no way I can decide between the two. So I'll just have some ice cream.cobra_commander wrote:Its so good, after you've read STEEL NATION, you get the feeling like its gone BEYOND a comic.
And like ALL great comics,
WATCHMEN, DARK KNIGHT, SANDMAN, KILLING JOKE...
it doesn't just STAND OUT in your memory years and years after you've read it...But it HAUNTS you...
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

19) VALIANT WILL RETURN.
It'll be a celebration of complete chaos and destruction.
It'll be a glorious time of weeping. The earth will shift on its axis.
