With all this talk of X-O Manowar recently...
...I was just curious, if we were to see a reboot of X-O Manowar, what style of his armor do you prefer?
Personally, I love the original, which is one of the reasons I'll actually buy the new lithograph. There's just something about it. I guess it is representative of when the X-O title was at it's best for me.
What do you think?

stylistically, i liked the second version of Shanhara best...post underground hybernation. i just like the more simplistic version with the X on the chest.
however, the first version was pretty cool as well, and i associate this armor to all those early great stories. i'm definitely not a fan of the post #50 version. those bulky hand cannons do not look cool to me.

I want X-O Bicycleowar, myself. Or maybe X-O Briefcaseowar. I really can't make up my mind between those two. But forget that Aric guy -- Master Darque is the one true wielder of the X-O!
(Yes, I just finished the run of X-O for the first time the other day. Wow. How the mighty had fallen. Ugh. Eternal Warrior's slippage was nothing in comparison.)

Man, I was definitely the wrong person to set up this poll. I didn't even know they updated the armor a third time in the first series. Oh well, from the responses so far, it looks like it does not matter that it was not included in the options.aj583 wrote:i'm definitely not a fan of the post #50 version. those bulky hand cannons do not look cool to me.

If I recall, that's the second version. With boobs.Heath wrote:Whichever version is a woman with boobs the size of the moon. I'll take that. But since it's not an option in this poll, I'll go with the original.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Yeah, total armor changes in the first series:The Mighty Drew wrote:Man, I was definitely the wrong person to set up this poll. 1) Shanhara (original version)
2) Shanhara (post-Unity evolution)
3) Pol-Bekhara
4) Bekhara (?) (post-Alloy Pol-Bekhara armor)
And if you want to include minor variations, the armor altered itself somewhat both when Randy wore it, and when Master Darque wore it.
I think that covers the bases of the VH1 versions of the armor. Haven't the first clue when it comes to VH2 versions, mind.

It was a horrible, horrible storyline near the end of the series.slym2none wrote:Master Darque wore the X-O armour???

How the HELL did "they" get hom out of it???

Master Darque goes toe to toe with the X-O armor in a fight for a little while, then just sort of zaps it with Necromantic energy and uses his powers to take control of the armor and take it away from Aric. The armor doesn't like him, though, so it sends out a faint telepathic cry for help to Aric, which Aric can follow despite not having the control ring. Darque goes to sleep. Aric breaks into his house (because barbarians are good at brute forcing their way through mundane security systems without setting them off, don't you know) and slits his throat. Aric monologues for a while about how the armor learned loyalty from him, so while it probably would have protected him from anyone else, it let Aric kill him and that the armor won't let Darque move to do anything arcane in order to protect himself. Darque dies from blood loss.
Yeah. Probably the worst portrayal of Master Darque I've ever seen, and certainly among the worst of the Valiant books written.

The fact that Master Darque could take the suit so easily didn't make much sense to me. However, I did think that the way Aric disposed of Darque was exactly in line with classic Aric vengance (minus the lame dialouge though).Tyrnis wrote:It was a horrible, horrible storyline near the end of the series.slym2none wrote:Master Darque wore the X-O armour???
