I have to dissagree with you here,

(now I know that most posters here have much more time than me at this site, but I have spent my summer [just apout everyday {summer vacation :thumb:} becoming a part of this community, and I have no plan of leaving once I have to begin teaching again)

but in the short time I have been here I have posted in many threads that disucssed... VALIANT comics.

I have even authored (is this the right word?) many "VALIANT" comics posts: I have requested information, (what happened to Armstrong?), discussed re-reading VALIANT books (Bloodshot, XO Yearbooks{I know, I put them in the wrong catagory}), asked correct reading sequences (Magnus and Rai Malev War), The who would win in a cage match thread (It has to Armstrong  ), ... just to name a few.

I am not posting this to inflame, but as a member of these boards, I felt I needed to stick up for... (what I don't know...)

...I just believe that "blanket statements" that are incorrect need to be addressed.

I seem to discuss (post) VALIANT comics just about everyday.

No disrespect intended, no desire to inflame, I just disagree with you here...

Heck, the Valiant Answer Man (Magnus) posts here, I always learn something about VALIANT from him.

OK - here is a moldy oldie interview of Jim Shooter and Vinnie Bartilucce from 1992 before Unity.

http://gregholland.com/valiant/vinnie1.asp

Jim talks about reprinting Brain Boy and Little Lulu. Would that have made them part of the original Valiant Universe too? Would that have made it acceptable to include them in Valiant continuity if that ever happened? What if all new stories were done about those characters?

Just a thought... :hm:

Incorrect - the correct answer would have been "I like ice-cream."

Now, pie WITH ice-cream???

I especially like the Rai figure, but the MAgnus and Solar are pretty nice as well. :)

I would love to see his take on X-O, but I am sure that would be an expensive one with all the detail needed to do it right.

Of course not.

As I said before, VALIANT as a publisher can publish a lot of things, it doesn't necessarily make them part of the same universe, just like Marvel with Barbie and DC with Dexter's Lab.

Acclaim published a line of Disney books that weren't part of VH 2.

Acclaim even published an extremely lame Dial H for Hero rip off in the Ninjak and Turok digests that was NEVER a part of the VH 2 Universe.

People discuss Valiant all the time - they're just not saying what you want to hear. The problem is you have such a narrow view on what "discussing Valiant" means.
ManofTheAtom wrote:Once again it's been proven that if I joined the chrous and sang along with "reboot, start after unity, and bring back the Goat!" this would have been a more pleasant conversation.
All it takes to have a pleasant conversation is to A) not tell people they've said things they haven't said and 2) Don't assume that someone cares less about Valiant if they don't have the exact same opinion you do.
ManofTheAtom wrote:...what's the point when people here don't want to see VALIANT comics, they want DC lite?
It's those kind of statements that turn the conversation unpleasant.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Rebooting, picking up from after Unity, and/or bringing Vincent Van Goat's Legionnaries party to VALIANT would be DC lite.

IN YOUR OPINION. :!:

I have a feeling you're going to be very dissapointed when any relaunch of these characters occurs.

And what is your problem with the Quantum and Woody book? It's like you have a vendetta against it, whether it's part of the VALIANT universe or not.

Why am I even propogating this discussion?

I liked Q&W, I just don't want it in the VALIANT Universe.

If VALIANT Entertainment can publish Q&W they should, but there's absolutely no need for them to do it as part of the VALIANT Universe as doing so would damage the foundation.

There's no room for Vincent Van Goat's Legionnaries party.

And it's not an opinion, it's a fact.

Rebooting means that continuity's thrown out the window, and if that happens then character can be thrown out the window, and if that happens then hard science gets thrown out the window, and if that happens then the real world setting might as well be thrown out the window.

Doing it like that isn't doing VALIANT, it's doing DC lite, just another superhero universe that does the same tired and cliched stories as DC and Marvel.

That's what you waited 10 years for?

Why don't you just make this your signature already?

What is it about this single page or whatever it was that bothered you so much? Seriously...

What bothers me is that at the first sign of movement concerning these properties a consensus has formed which message is that they don't want to read VALIANT comics, they want to read DC lite.

They want comics called VALIANT with characters that have the same names as before, but they don't want any of the stories or the style of storytelling.

They want a *SQUEE* Goat who's on a first name basis with DC's Legion of Super-Heroes.

What's up with that?

Alright, I'm out. Circular logic and single-track mindedness wins for tonight. I'm just not interested enough to keep this silliness going.

And just to try and bring this thread back on topic, my comic shop has an action figure of the Goat. It's been up on the wall forever and the packaging is kinda dusty. I think after reading this thread, I may pick it up...

THIS is why I need VALIANT Action Figures.

I'll buy the goat, and play with him along with the VALIANT Universe characters. I'll form a new "Secret Weapons" team of Magnus, Solar, X-O, Shadowman, and the Goat. I'll put them up against my old Star Wars guys! I'll take lots of pictures and post them for you. GOAT! Leader of the greatest heroes of THE NEW VALIANT UNIVERSE!!!!! Guest starring the Legion!
