Jim Shooter?

Post by X-O Manowar0415 »

Does anybody know what Jim Shooter is doing these days? Any chance of him trying a new (or old) comic company again? I would love to see him return. His stuff was the best IMHO :thumb:

Last I heard he got out of the comic business. Sucks for us Shooter fans, hopefully Dino & Co. can persuade him to get back in the biz.

According to Wikipedia, Jim is currently part owner and creative consultant for Phobos entertainment.

But it looks like you guys know all about Wikipedia so I wouldn't be surprised if knowledge of Shooters' last known whereabouts originated here.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Jim was interviewed on ComicZone radio by Vincent Zurzolo of Metropolis Collectibles a couple of years ago. Jim said that there isn't enough money in comics (compared to the writing he does for TV, film, and books) for him to return to comics. After listening to the audio transcript, I get the impression that he misses comics though.

You can find the three-part interview by searching the ComicZone archives here: http://64.34.200.175/comiczone.php?type ... ticle_id=5

one time word on the street was that Big Jim was a member of this site and posted every so often...but that information might have been tainted...or fabrication...some may know which

I think I "know" who he is, but it's just a hunch based upon what the person post(ed) on a semi-regular basis.

What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter
