If I know the seller, that's a different situation.

The pool of "average Ebay sellers" for comic books is like a classroom of students.

You'll get some who deserve an "A",
some who deserve a "B", etc.
The average isn't very good, though, since most people deserve a "C",
and I'm not giving my money to C-students.

I'd rather have the professors grade my book before I buy it.

What's so special about this lot? The two Visitor vs. Valiant Universe books are the newsstand editions with the $2.50 and the UPC code. Unfortunately, when I got the books, I found the condition was overstated. Three of the four books had spine creases and dinged corners, being VF at best in my opinion. I wrote an e-mail to the seller chastising them about their grading, but I doubt if anything will come out of it. Luckily, the one book that was indeed NM was the Visitor vs. Valiant Universe #1 newsstand copy, so I'll probably put that one up for sale if anyone needs it.
I saw that auction, probably moments before you did. I fiddled with the BIN button for a few moments and then backed off. In my mind I could not justify $14 for those two books. I would have probably bid the minimum at the auctions end. I could have lived with $9-$10 for the books. It's unfortunate that they are not as advertised. I am still looking for second copies of each if anyone has them available.

It's a tough call when someone claims "excellent condition".
Does anyone know what that means? Would you bet $50 on it?

I hear ya Greg, but I would personally give it a shot for $50 because of the upside could be considerable, but that's just me.

I do too. I just bought a Ninjak #1 and X-O #0 Gold from a local comic shop for ten bucks along with Shadowman #2- #6, Harbinger #2 with coupon and Solar #2 for fifty cents a piece. Needless to say I left his shop very, very happy indeed.

I bet $50 on it, then went out of town. I would have paid that just because I don't own those three books! Arrrgghhhhh!!!! Oh well, it happens, right?

local show today, didn't look through everything as carefully as I normally like to, but I found some decent deals, not much Valiants, though. I did manage to buy a Bloodshot #0 VVSS for $5. I passed on a Rai #9 VVSS for $5 and a Harbinger Bluebird TPB for $10, since you can often get those books for those prices on eBay.

Best non Valiant buy today was from one dealer who was blowing out some pretty good books. I picked up 26 Bronze Age Horror (both Marvel and DC) in F to VF condition for $1.00 each. Some sweet stuff!

Hi guys, I'm still on vacation in Virginia here. Today I had my girl drive me around to some local comic stores. Only made it to two stores before heavy rain forced us to cancel the remaining trips. Anyways here's what I found so far. First store was still setting up their back issue bins, so couldn't see what Valiants they had. I did managed to find some stuff at the second store. Here's what I got:

1) XO Manowar #15(pink) - $4.25
2) Bloodshot #51 - $2.75
3) Shadowman #43 - $2.75
4) Shadowman Vol 3. #2 variant - $2.75  (yes this is the good, the bad and ugly cover)

They also had Bloodshot Last Standing for like $6.25. I passed that one up, but I think the prices were pretty good for the ones I bought. I'll try some more stores tomorrow if the weather permits. Will report more if I find anymore good deals. :)

Hey, did you visit this place called COMICKINGS in Virginia Beach? He has no idea what's going on in terms of Valiants.

Hi guys, back today with another good report. For all those asking, I've been looking around FairFax Virginia area. This might be my last report as I can tell my g/f was getting impatient watching me search thru endless bins of back issues all day long. Anyways I found another store with a good cache of Pre-unity Valiants. I had to make two trips to the store since my g/f's lil sister got hungry and we took a break to lunch.
Anyways here's what I got for the first trip:

XO Manowar #1,3,5,6 - $9
Rai #1, 3 - $4  I was already smiling when i pulled out #3 :D
Shadowman Vol 3 #1 variant - $2
Timewalker #0 - $1.50
Harbinger #7 - $2.50

I felt like I was missing something so I had my g/f drive me back and lucky I did because here's what I found amongst hidden boxes beneath the back issue bins:

Rai #1 - 2x copies
Harbinger #1-6 (all have coupons except #1)
Amazing Spiderman #509 (first print)- $2.25

The valiants had no price tags and the guy behind the cash register didn't know what it was worth so he gave them all to me for $5. :D :D :D

Anyways I think I got a good deal, I was happy to drop close to $30 for them. There were more pre-unity books in the hidden stash like a bunch of Shadowman #2 and #3 and a copy of XO Manowar #1 with a $20 price tag, but I passed on those.

Would love to go there, but it's quite a drive and I don't think my girl is up for it. Hopefully next time......

Not bad, especially since he's only charging 4 bucks to send it.

*******Holy freaking crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!****

I guess I should be happy there was a BIN he probably saved me a grand.

What a loser for putting those up for sale that way! Oh lets lump the $1500 book in with two others and set the bin real low. Clueless.

Greg, If you want to make a quick $100 you can flip it to me.

Nothing incredible, but here is what I got.

Deathmate Prologue gold
Turok 1 autographed (not VVSS)
Unity 1 Gold
Shadowman 2, 3
Punx 1-3, Manga special
Solar 4
Deathmate Red
Solar: Revalations
Trinity Angels 1
Solar: Man of the Atom
Goat: HAEDUS
Magnus 1 variant (Acclaim)
Troublemakers 1 review
Trinity Angels 1 review
Quantum and Woody 1 review
Eternal Warriors 1 review
Bloodshot 1 review
plus a Goat Inaction Figure (the guy had 2, I only bought 1 of them)
for $43.

Nothing like finding a CEAR for $.50 (I was hoping) but I think that is a decent pickup.

For those that might be interested, I will probably trade/sell a lot of the acclaim stuff.

Chris

$150? Or $1.50?

One I would think is a good deal, I am not sure about the other. :)

If it is $1.50, I'll buy it from you for $3 - 100% profit!

Chris
