Turok Dinosaur Hunter N64 Video Game

Post by ckb »

I'm selling a batch of video games for a cousin, and I came across this. I wasn't sure this book had been documented, so here it is:

The instruction manual contains a 16 page Turok Story:

Back cover:

First page of the story with the credits, page 22 of the book:

And here is the splash to show there really is a comic in here:

I may not host these forever so someone steal them for posterity if need be.

This was supposed to be reprinted in the Turok tp that was solicited twice but never came out.
:atomic: Comics are like a Rorschach test, everyone has a different opinion on what they are and can be... :atomic:

This is a common game I take it? Did it ship with the N64 units?

Yeah, it's still a fairly easy (and cheap) N64 title to get a hold of unopened since they made a bajillion of them.

<rant>

Bosworth Dormitory, Oklahoma College, Oklahoma City?

I can deal with making up a dorm name, and I wouldn't care if the place was drawn entirely unlike the real campus, but the UNIVERSITY of Oklahoma is in Norman (a little south of OKC) and is where Bosworth attended/played football. I'll grant you, that's probably not so much common knowledge save amongst rabid college football fans, really bad action movie fans, or Oklahoma residents, but c'mon, how much research does it take to get a college's name and location right?

</rant>

Anyway, even if it isn't some hithertofore undocumented Valiant book, it's still a neat find!

I don't think they intended for Turok to be a Sooner. :wink:

It's a reference to a fictitional location that sounds a little like reality.

Only VALIANT was based in our reality... Acclaim was based in... uhh... somewhere else. :P

(Welcome to the boards, by the way!)

Man, it's downright depressing to see what "they" did to Turok... :(

It's still a great game though. I'll break it out and play again one of these days. Another neat thing is it has all kinds of cool cheat codes if you just feel like blasting away at the Dino's and having all the weapons or infinite health.
