ARMSTRONG ALE

Post by GWYGUY »

I'm just curious...yes, like George. But, no man in the yellow hat. I was digging through my boxes of stuff the other day (God, I love lifting the lid on a box and seeing my Gold issues still staring at me...speculators of old suck!!!) and I saw a bottle of Armstrong Ale in one. Can anyone give me brew runs/print runs on this particular concoction? Where was it brewed? Etc. I'm thinking about selling it, as it fits into that particular category of "things I'd like to keep, but lack of space demands otherwise". I appreciate the assistance, ya'll. Bob Hall, Layton, Shooter, and Frank Miller covers still rule!!! Later. -Gary

I believe they were brewed in Madison WI because I think this particular promotion came through Capital City Distributors. As for a price. I think I paid $30 for a set of one each that came in the original boxes with the greeting cards that came with them. I think $10 is about the going rate for an unopened bottle without the card.

How old was it when you drank it Dino? I would imagine they're a little skunky by now.

Is there a story behind that? I mean why the hell would you bust open a bottle of Armstrong Ale after, what, 8 years?

Were you out of Darque Brew? :D

Nice to see it kept. I'm looking to buy two, one of which I will keep.

And yeah, I saw the auctions you bleepity-bleeps.

I never got around to buying a bottle of darque brew (its on my list of things to do). I had two armstrong ales and one day I was bored.
