What was your first Valiant comic?
I thought this would be a fun topic for the newbies and the veterans too.
If I can remember that far back I think mine was Magnus Robot Fighter #25, silver foil cover

I jumped on board the Valiant band wagon later than a lot of people (I was pretty young when Valiant was starting up) but the first issue I picked up was Turok #12 I think.

I'm not worried... it's at least a 9.6, well-centered, and if I can't get $65 back out of it at any time, it won't be sold.Daniel Jackson wrote:Ouch.slym2none wrote:

'65-'66 Mustangs are my all-time fave cars... and guess what? "L8 AGAIN" is taken in North Carolina for a tag. *snaps fingers* I'm gonna get something else, though, that should help cement my love of VALIANT.Daniel Jackson wrote:I do too, it's a classic. The license plate is pretty funny also.putz wrote:Harby 1 when it came out.
I liked the Mustang on the cover also.

-slym (currently has "N'ASTIRH" for his tag - an X-Men reference)

The first X-Men I purchased was #240...I jumped on because of an ad I saw in an Avengers comic I was reading at the time for Inferno. Damn in hindsight N'Astirh was one of the lamest villians...not lamer than Eclipse of course...of course there was S'ym too...he was pretty lame.slym2none wrote:-slym (currently has "N'ASTIRH" for his tag - an X-Men reference)
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

Ah, I agree... but N'astirh is as obscure as he is lame. I get lots of questions about my license plate.MProyas wrote:The first X-Men I purchased was #240...I jumped on because of an ad I saw in an Avengers comic I was reading at the time for Inferno. Now I don't want to use the term "attention seeking weirdo" but...

can you say Secret Wars?Second_Death wrote:Solar #1 was my first Valiant. It had been out for a few weeks as the shop had just received the #2 issue the day I received a copy of #1. Has their ever been a better one-year run of a title than Solar had with 1-12+?

...ouch...
and with that, 100 meandering, mundane posts full of filler and beef bi-products have helped spread the insanity and hopefully made a healthy number of you go: "wtf?"
I'd like to thank Greg, and the academy. My mother couldn't be here tonight, it is her bingo night, I'd like to thank my grade 9 Data Processing teacher, without whom I would still be doing the "hunt and peck" typing format. I'd like to thank God of course...without Mr. Gates us plebians would be stuck communicating via comic book mailbags and local BBS message boards.
