WE'RE MOVING STORES! HUGE BACK ISSUE SALE!

Post by daydreamscomics »

hey fellas,

daydreams comics recently finalized a deal to move into a new building this summer.

not only is it being remodeled to our specs, but it doesn't have a leaky roof and is in a much better location. and it's WAY cheaper!

in honor of that (and the fact that the less long boxes we have to move the better) we are trying to get rid of as many surplus back issues as we can. i've sorted through all out stock, and anything we have more than 5 copies of has been pulled out.

we have stuff from just about every company you can think of (and some you can't  ) most of our overstock is going to be 80's/90's stuff. all the bigger titles are there, so don't think it's just a bunch of crap.

pretty much the only valiant stuff we have are the more "common" books, but they are 3/$1 so get what you want.

if you have wantlists you want me to check on, i'll be happy to do so. most everything i can think of will be in the $0.50 - $1 range. anything over $10 guide will be 65% off. shipping can go either media or priority, your choice.

AND THE MORE YOU BUY, THE BETTER DEAL I'LL GIVE YA!

pm me those lists and i'll start checking on them next week :thumb:

Good for you! :thumb:
Where are you moving to, I did not think the store was in a bad place in the ped mall. Could have been worse, could have been on the second floor of the old capital mall :p

Anyway, good luck.

that's sweet that you've been to our store!

while the ped mall is a good place for bars/restaurants/etc. it's become bad for retail businesses. on our block, there are only 4 retail stores, one of which is going out of business. we are moving one block east and 1 1/2 blocks north, which will put us on dubuque street. if you (or anyone) is at all familiar with downtown iowa city, we are moving into the store front sam goody was located in. this will give us A LOT more foot traffic passing by our store. like you said, we could have been in old capitol mall. college kids don't cut through the mall after class, they cut through downtown. so now they will all be walking by our store. :thumb:

we also don't have to pay property tax anymore, which is HUGE! and if we stayed where we were, we'd have to pay to replace the roof, which was in the neighborhood of $10K. so we're saving a lot of cash which we are going to put back into the store to make it even better than it is :D

Been there loads of times. Studied at the University for half a year there a couple of years ago as an exchange study and couldn't do without my weekly comic dosis. Anybody who ever comes near Iowa City should absolutely visit the store. I.C. itself is a good way to a free day.
