Your favorite Valiant Hero & Villain?
I'm always curious to hear this sort of thing from people. Who's your favorite Valiant Hero and Villain? Why?
For heroes mine is a tie between Jim Shooter Magnus and Shadowman.
Shooter's Magnus was unstoppable (he could fight hundreds of robots at a time!) and he always stood up for what he believed in no matter what the consequences were. Jack Boniface is one of the most endearing and human characters in comics and there's nothing cooler than getting the urge to rid the night of "demons" after dark...
For villians it would be Master Darque.
Visually he's one of my favorite villians of all time and there's just something interesting about a guy who trades in desires and souls...

Hero: Shooter's Solar.
Villain: Erica Pierce.
Shooter's Solar is such a deep guy. He was funny but he was sad. Like trying to hide how he felt with jokes. I love the way Shooter wrote him.
I think that Solar might have been his favorite character.
Erica doesn't seem like such a bad chick. She saw Solar as a threat to the world and she was like Solar. Such a great nemesis.

If I had to pick only one of each...
Hero - Magnus When I first heard about Magnus being brought back through Valiant I could not wait to see their spin on the character. I was immediately hooked after reading issue #1 and made sure I had every issue they kept churning out. He always seemed to be the one with the most virtue and integrity (to me anyway) and he could really smash them robots.
Villain - Harada This guy had it all. Brains, money, connections and besides Sting and Solar he was probably the most powerful.

Hero - X-O because he is the brooding, non-politically correct man living inside all of us.
Villain - Harada because who doesn't want the ability to control people with your mind and rationalize the behavior away.
Yes, this is my first post. I was a member on v.1 of the board before the crash. I'm a grad student taking three summer classes and working multiple jobs. I suppose it was time for me to stop and say something rather than my occassional trip to the site to lurk in the shadows reading interesting posts.
My avitar is my one and only piece of Valiant art that I own and that is the Ninjak promo piece penciled by Joe Q and inked by Jimmy J.
I was a huge Valiant-fanatic (I should check to see if that's a known illness) back in '92 and '93.

I wanted to wait until I got a few responses before I counted them up (I got curious). X-O got the most people (3) with a 2nd place tie between Magnus, Shadowman, and Bloodshot (2 each). I'm pleasantly surprised by how diverse the favorites are.
Darque got favorite villian hands down with Harada in second but honestly their wasn't a lot of choices in this catagory (pre-Chaos Effect the Valiant Universe had, what, maybe a half dozen serious villians?). An unscientific "poll" but fun none-the-less. Thanks for all the responses so far and feel free to post your favorites if you haven't already.

Hero: Shooters Magnus (Steel Nation is still the best story arc Ive ever read in comics)
Villian: Harada (He has the power to see most clearly what you are trying the to hide from him. I loved how he brainwashed the harbingers into thinking he was this great guy but every little thing he ever did was only to further his own agenda. His only advesary's were the two other most powerful people of his time - Sting and Solar)

the Omega Harbingers were my favorites.
Sting and Harada. Harada just had this sly evilness to him. he had moments for you could sometimes argue that he wasn't really evil, just doing things he felt was right. it also helped that I think they had the best powers of anybody in Vh1. telekenisis, telepathy, flight, etc... those psionic powers were just awesome.
