Re-Reading: Armed & Dangerous #1

Post by xoken »

I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if someone wants to take over please do

For voting think of your single favourite comic book (not just VALIANT) as the benchmark - thats a 10 - and grade according to that.

Make sure to mention what you like'd about the book, what you didn't, what you wish they would have done, your favourite panels, lines of dialogue, little bits of trivia etc.

Finally a book I've read recently.

It's been a few months so unfortunately I can't really give any details.

I just remember that all nine books of this series are great reads.

I would encourage everyone to find them and read them :thumb:

All of Bob Hall's artistic idiosyncracies are played out to the max here. Its a great sight to behold.

All the mafia characters (Gumball, Uncle Mitch, Doogie the cabie...) are slightly larger than life but still so much fun. They feel like they walked right out of a James Cagney movie.

Great set pieces (the opening and the packing), a fun pay off and some great character moments (especially in the cab).

A strong 7

I forgot how run this read was.....

Mitch the Fixer......Bob created some really great characters...

It's really tough to introduce something like this and have it work.....

a stand alone issue that works and plays out very well...Nice cab scene.

Strong 8 vote from me.
