Unity # 1 Platinum Signed / Shooter ... Run of 150? What?

Post by Valiant_1 »

Hey! I'm on my way to a local comic shop today to pick up a comic I saw in the back issues a couple of weeks ago. It was a copy of UNITY # 1 Platinum version signed by Jim Shooter, with a run of 150. I can't recall the name of the company that released it, but it was pretty obscure. It had a certificate (nothing like VVSS), but was nice to look at.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this book? Worth the ten bucks to buy you think?

I will post more info about this one this afternoon after I buy it.

Well, unity plat is worth 12 bucks currently so it can't hurt, and with a signature from Jim Shooter, i'd say its not a bad buy.

We need to see if we can compile a list of signed books
that DIDN'T come from Valiant directly.

We've seen dozens of these through the years...

I know "CatchAStar" had two or three signed books,
there are lots of copies of Ninjak #1 and X-O #0 that are signed,
but neither of those books was a VVSS book... just signed in person
at comic shops or conventions... lots of times with COAs.
The signed Harbinger TPBs are also common... I think there are 2,000 of those.

150 is a pretty low number... usually the signed books were signed
"out of 2,000" or "out of 5,000"...

Anyway, we've got enough guys on here to put together a pretty good list.
We could include the book, artist(s), COA source, location of signing, etc.

I know we tried to start a list like that somewhere on the boards but it dies because there were too many strange ones. I'd love to try again.

No worries....not trying to make already tough-to-compile lists of signed books already rougher. :)

Picked up the book from the dealer today. The book was from a group called "Music City Collectables", but was not numbered as suggested, but did come w/ COA and signed by Shooter on cover.

I got it for $8.00, which I was pleased with, but I was more pleased with the V2 ARMORINES # 4 I found in the .49 bin. EXCELLENT!!!
