I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if someone wants to take over please do

For voting think of your single favourite comic book (not just VALIANT) as the benchmark - thats a 10 - and grade according to that.

Make sure to mention what you like'd about the book, what you didn't, what you wish they would have done, your favourite panels, lines of dialogue, little bits of trivia etc.

Another good story, I liked how Aric lets the Feds think they have him where they want him only to call the good skin back to him. Is it just me or does Randy seem awful needy and whiney up to this point?

Same compliants and compliments as last issue.

The chemistry between Aric and Randy is good. The fact the government doesn't stand a chance is actually used her to create a great sense of irony when they imprison Aric without knowing he can bust out and kick there a$$ at any point.

But I've got to ask...why in the heck don't they stand a chance? We've got the vast resources of the US government in a world litered with alien technology and that wussy little strike team was the best they could come up with? Gimmie a break. However, I must say the scene were Aric rips the helicopter in two was cool :)

The base they're at is really neat but unfortunately it's based on a premise that just doesn't make any sense in continuity (see my notes below).

Anyway, more of the same. A 7.

Continuity Notes:
I commented on the crater when we did Solar 2 but basically the problem with the base in this issue of X-O is this: Sol was inside the "tunnels" he and Dr Solar had burned through the ice when he let loose the explosion. The explosion should have evaporated the tunnels, not just what was above them.

You'll see some future Armorine characters in this issue: Sirot (who they call by name once I think) and the scientist.

Oh, and on a lighter note, Aric was so upset by the departure of Bart Sears he shaved off all his body hair!

Pretty much same grade as last issue. The story is allowed to take the time needed, leaving us with another cliff-hanger. Good art and good enough story. I like it.
