Valiant movies.
Here is the only thing I found at the hollywood stock exchange. http://movies.hsx.com/servlet/SecurityD ... mbol=SHDWM I assume you mean I, Robot as a "Magnus" type Movie? Would love an X-O movie for sure, but I tend to be a dreamer. As for the Avatar, I snagged it somewhere last year, and i've seen it on eBay recently.

I had talked to Barry Levine a couple months back who is still trying to shepard some of the Valiant books into films. He had mentioned that Shadowman is still set up at Dimension Films (Miramax's genre offshoot) and at one time had Ice Cube attached, though I'm sure he's long gone now. He also mentioned that they were working on a Quantum and Woody flick though that was still in early development.
And yes...Magnus AKA I, Robot will be out this summer with Will Smith as, errr, Magnus, except now with fly clothes.
Of course I can't believe that VanHook hasn't written his own Bloodshot screenplay yet and tried to wrangle the rights to make his own film. (Hint, hint Kevin...)

Hello all. I just seen the trailer for i,Robot. The movie looks very well done. The main story does ring a lot of Magnus but not so much as to be a complete rip-off. It takes place in the future when domestic worker robots are numbering 1 to 5 with humans and one particular robot is accused of murdering a human. Will Smith plays a cop who is trying to bring the robot to justice.

I get all of my info from www.comics2film.com. It's amazing how many rumors/comic films there are in some stage of production.
I always thought that "Bones" was the Shadowman movie that never was...the plot is changed enough to avoid any lawsuits...but I believe it was set in New Orleans...or maybe I'm just blowing smoke.
And of course, Casshern...it's been brought up before, but if you haven't seen it...go now!

Actually, a lot of the lines in the trailer sound like paraphrases from Steel Nation and some of the images are reminincent too. Could be coincidence.myron wrote:we've been down this road before

What Isamov story in I, Robot involved a robot murder and a robot revolt? It's been awhile since I've read it, but I couldn't recall either in the book.
I've read that originally they had a different title for the movie, and later got the rights to "I, Robot" and decided to go with that as the title after some small rewrites. But I think I read this on another online message board so it may not be reliable

Additionally, I, Robot is a collection of short stories, telling a much larger story - if all taken together. There is no one story that I remember that is like the movie ... mainly because the movie seriously perverts the whole idea and message that Asimov was making!!! The movie is almost the exact opposite of what I, Robot was about. It wasn't about Robot insurrection and revolution at all. It was about the public being afraid of those things, despite it being impossible.
I don't know what the story is behind this particular movie using the I, Robot name, but someone involved with the Asimov estate need to sue the pants off of someone. Taking creative freedoms with a story is one thing, totally changing the message of the story isn't.
