Spiderman's "new" costume
Spidey's new costume...

Okay, I know they never say these things are temporary because they're trying to get readers who don't know better to buy the thing but, c'mon, we've around the block few times here. Anyone want to take bets on how long Spidey will be in his "new" costume?

No but they did change the clone's costume when he replaced the real deal.jedimarley wrote:Didn't they try and change his costume back in the 90's?
The real Spiderman did get to wear a black costume for a bit in the 80's but then it tried to eat him

And occasionally Spiderman has pulled out special outfits for special jobs (I him remember seeing in "Spider armor" in one issue in the 90's)
But none of them looked this bad.

Yeah, well Marvel does what it always does... and from fanzines and message boarding, they realize that Iron Man fans are loyal to the character, so now they're *SQUEE* IM by throwing him in the Spidey mix and having Stark make a costume for the character to more or less add Iron Man sales to the Spidey sales to pick up the slump.inmyblood wrote:Looks pretty lame. Spidey sales must be at an all time low.
We all know the red and blue will come back. It always does.
If Civil War actually turns out to be good and all of this "stage setting" somehow makes sense, I'll be the first to be happy about it, but look at the lame 6-issue excuse that was House of M. The only nice thing about that story was how it drew from continuity established years back (with the Scarlet Witch, Avengers West Coast issues it was spawned from) and created a natural evolution for the character. Essesntially, the only good thing about House of M was the Avengers Dissasembled story... LOL
God, was this a stream of consciousness post, or what?

Re: Spiderman's "new" costume
Please say it ain't so......that costume looks like a bad ripoff of spiderwoman's costume. I hope they stick with the red and blue.Todd Luck wrote:Spidey's new costume...

I typically hate it when the original costume gets canned although I would prefer to see Wolverine back in his tan and brwon outfit.

If they want to sell some Iron Man comics they'll have to try and get them out on time. The current lag with IM is atrocious.IMJ wrote:Yeah, well Marvel does what it always does... and from fanzines and message boarding, they realize that Iron Man fans are loyal to the character, so now they're *SKREE* IM by throwing him in the Spidey mix and having Stark make a costume for the character to more or less add Iron Man sales to the Spidey sales to pick up the slump.
