I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if someone wants to take over please do

For voting think of your single favourite comic book (not just VALIANT) as the benchmark - thats a 10 - and grade according to that.

Make sure to mention what you like'd about the book, what you didn't, what you wish they would have done, your favourite panels, lines of dialogue, little bits of trivia etc.

Technically it's a good issue. It deals with several layers of what it is to be human, what we need to keep our sanity and how humans interact, or fail to interact. But that's not what I'm looking for in a superhero comic. I mean, I want to get to know the characters and see how they develop, but not to this degree. If I wanted a relationships comic, I'd buy one. So, technically a good issue, but not a high grade from me.

We open with a cliche. what do people who are pulling a scam do when a flying man in a suit discovers them? they pull out guns and try to kill him. Realistic, huh? But it's a small scene and I'll let it go.

This a wonderful issue. We explore the relationships between Gayle and Phil and their parents. Nicely developed, interesting stuff. Gayle's reactions to her mom this issue and last have been priceless. And it was nice to FINALLY see Phil's dad.

And it was a nice touch to have Solar delayed from helping Aric with the aliens over in X-O by having Gayle's mom take and forget the message from Geoff. It's little touches like that with continuity that make super hero comic fun.

This, to me, is the last good Solar. From here's it's all old recycled plots and ideas, or things that are far worse. For the last Solar issue I really enjoyed, I'll give an 8.

This issue just didn't click that well with me, the most interesting part was Phil confronting his father and showing him who he really is.

Not a bad story. Solid art. But still not what I want in a comic.
