What was the X-O/Ironman game like?

Post by Todd Luck »

Did anyone actually play the X-O/Ironman videogame? I've never seen it myself and I've always been curious. What was the gameplay like? Do the characters use all their abilities (can they fly, ect)?

The solicitation for it boasted both characters fight their deadliest enemies but while I was reading the book the only enemies X-O fought were spider aliens and maybe Ax but I know they tried giving Aric a rogue gallery when Accliam took over. So who were the enemies in the game? Thanks.

I believe the reviews for it were not very favorable when it came out.
Still, I'd like to find a copy and find out for myself.
Anyone got one for sale?

The game itself wasn't too bad - the characters really didn't have much of a difference when it came to playability, but they did do a fairly accurate representation of the characters at the time.

I wasn't too fond of the animation style they chose (it seemed like a metallic claymation style) and some of the boss fights were disappointing on many levels, but I'd say it was worth the $20 I dropped on it when it came out.

It came out on DOS, Playstation1, Sega Saturn (version I have), and game boy. I dont think that supernintindo got a version of this game. N64 was out when this was. I dont think I remember N64 getting a version either.

X-O/Iron Man game

I actually own a PlayStation 1 version of the game, and played it quite a bit when it first came out, until I got tired of not being able to beat it  . Still have it intact and in my guest bedroom with the Playstation (and the Shadowman game). That one seems different, but still haven't beaten it either. Both are good for entertainment and get-away time from the wife and kids :D

Speaking of Classic NES, there's a survey to choose the next NES games to be adapted for the Game Boy Advance:

I've got it on Sega Game-Gear, Sega's version of the game boy. The game was so-so at best IMHO. The Game-Gear system itself was very cool though, really ahead of its time. It was the first portable with a full color screen, and the Sonic games for it were pretty much the same as the Genesis versions. You also could get a snap-on TV tuner that made your Game-Gear into a mini portable color TV. Also the first portable with a cable to link 2 Game-Gears for multi-player games. I really got alot of use out of my Game-Gear. You can pick Game-Gear systems and games really cheap now, and I recommend it if you like portable systems and are looking for something different.
