Bloodshot 6 VVSS IS It Or Isn't It

Post by The Mixer »

Well as a few of you have read I reciently had a fllod that took out a box of my Valiants ..In re-organizing them I found two copies of Bloodshot 6 which I beleive are VVSS can someone take a look. The ones I've seen so far had two Sigs these have only one Don Perlin - I was told he does not sign this book so Am I to assume it is a legit 6 VVSS or a variant of that.

It doesn't look like your images are showing up...
but I believe that the Bloodshot 6 VVSS books have Kevin VanHook's
signature in addition to Don Perlin's.

Interesting...
Those are signed in the right place, with the right color ink by Perlin...
but neither has Kevin VanHook's signature at the bottom.

Maybe Kevin had wandered off while those were being signed...
(since he's around here somewhere, maybe he'll tell us.) :P

All VVSSs have the "stamp"

All VVSSs have the "stamp'" on the cover.
Can't see a trace of them on the scan, so I'd say they weren't VVSSs.

Bloodshot 6 and X-O Database are "officially signed" and distributed
by/for Valiant, but they aren't VVSS in the traditional embossing sense.
They were both pre-embosser books...

As such, it's sometimes hard to be absolutely sure that a signed copy
is one of the intended issues, or if it might have been signed later.

Did they come in a Valiant sleeve? The Bloodshot #6 VVSS had a special Valiant sleeve which is unique to that issue. If it doesn't have Van Hook's signature and doesn't have that special sleeve, I'd say you just have a signed copy by Don Perlin.

I have a Bloodshot 6 that is signed in the right places, by both authors, but not with the right colors. I will scan it and post a picture of the scans...I was HOPING it was a Bloodshot 6 VVSS when I bought it. I got it on Ebay, so no plastic sleeve or anything.

thanks for the replies guys, in the 80's-90's I had a shop and took two of every Valian & image issue and board and bagged each one for my collection so all my books came from one of three sources, Diamond comics, Hero's World Comic Dist.or Capitol, I did not buy comics at shows or other shops.

I was told that Don does not sign this book becasue he does not ant to cause issue with the #6 VVSS books but who knows...thats what they all say.

Thanks for the replies guess no one really knows
