I considered going for the second one myself. Fair deal, so long as the conditions are good and the shipping is cheap.wrunow wrote:I thought these two auctions were pretty good buys this week, I don't know if I got any great deal though, what do you guys think?

I don't really think the first lot was worth it (especially the shipping). Harby 1 and 4 were nice finds, but not for the price. All the same, it's never a bad idea to own a ton of independent #1s. One of them could end up being the next blockbuster comic film some day.

I like your philosophy, Knight, and I agree that the first priority should always be on good reads. But there's nothing wrong with a little investing too, so long as you understand the risks.
Incidentally, speaking of which, I truly believe Magnus #12 was one of the worst issues of the run, and I don't think Turok ended up being a particularly great character either, so I find it funny that this is one of the most sought after Valiant issues of all time.

Thats exactly what I think, the hype on this book is blown out of preportion. People know it is a Valiant must have but they fail to realize the reason why, it is because it is only the first appearance of Turok. I wonder where Solar 10 would be if not for the black cover? Eternal Warrior's first appearance is a little more significant than Turok's IMO.shaxper wrote:I like your philosophy, Knight, and I agree that the first priority should always be on good reads. You have to factor in nostalga. Magnus 12 was on wizards top 10 list for over a year. Its one of those "I couldn't afford it then" bookslobo wrote:Thats exactly what I think, the hype on this book is blown out of preportion.
