Wow. I wondered if the New Universe's curious inclusion in the upcoming Marvel source book on alternate universes meant they were going to get used. Looks likes that's a big "yes". That's pretty cool.
Anyone know who the guy with the metal arm and "Wolverine" claws is? I assume he's an Exile but, truthfully, I don't have the faintest idea what the title is about or who's on their team!

I really want to like Exiles.. I mean it, I really do. It's a good concept (but then again, Sliders was a GREAT concept - this is just a Marvel Universe derivative), and the writing on the book has been mostly solid - a little spotty here and there, but overall consistent and interesting.
But the interior art is HORRID. I mean, it seriously looks like something that I would expect to see produced from a fifth-or-sixth rate Image clone in the early nineties. The art is so bad it makes reading the book a practice in self mutilation through your corneas.
Although I'm intrigued to find out how the New Universe has changed since last we saw it, I'm afraid to open the book.

I'm not sure which artist you're talking about, but I think Paul Pelletier is new to the book. If my memory is correct he worked with Bedard on a Crossgen series and his art is quite good.Byrneout wrote:I really want to like Exiles.. I mean it, I really do. I've never read an issue of Exiles before, but from what I understand it's a team of mutants that bounce around to alternate realities solving problems or what not, like a Marvel Universe Sliders. Someone who knows better correct me if I'm wrong.Todd Luck wrote: Anyone know who the guy with the metal arm and "Wolverine" claws is? As said earlier, the character with the Wolverine-style claws is Mimic. He can mimic up to five other powers at once, but he has to be in close contact with the person for a while for it to "take" and not fade away. He is only able to mimic these powers at half the potency of the original wielder - I believe his current set includes Colussus, Wolverine, Hulk, and a few others.
They claim he got the claws by miming Wolverine. But the adamantium on the claws? Who knows. That's too much thinking for Marvel.

Well, without giving away any spoilers, rest assured that this question was answered rather easily in the first few pages.Byrneout wrote:And another odd thought...
Didn't Quasar take the Star Brand with him the last time he was there? So how is it that someone who looks an awful lot like the Ken Connell Star Brand is seen in the background?
Good nostalgia trip, I might add.
