Valiant Continuity Bible **SOLD**

Post by johnhickman »

Hello all,

My wife has been seriously ill over the past several months, so I've been away from the boards. As a result, our finances have suffered. I'm parting with some things that I really don't need to make ends meet.

I have a Valiant Continuity Bible that was printed by a board member and made available to everyone on the board. The bible is a copy but is nicely spiral bound (marked 2nd print 2005 on cover) and has a nice protective cover on it. For those of you unaware, this book includes a history of the Valiant Universe including what was published and what was not. It's a facinating read. The book also features biographies of characters and issue information (for what had been published at that time - 1993). I'm also including the Story of the Geomancers - a 10 page copy of history of the Geomancers and bios of all of the Geomancers.

Total price is $30 shipped which is what I believe I paid for this 6 months ago. For those of you unfamiliar with me, you check out my profile on ebay using this same user id. PM me if you are interested. Paypal preferred payment.

Thanks,

John

That is unfortunate about your wife.

However, not sure what kind of 'drama' this sale will cause on the boards.

well one good thing is that it was sold for cost...no one can accuse the man of taking advantage of a fan based project.

i really hate you're going through some tough heath issues. i was in that same boat a couple of months ago with my wife.

thank god everything turned out ok...i'd be totally lost without her.

while i'm sure the sale will produce some drama i really hope that the intentions come through and don't get lost in the discussions to come.

he sold it for what he paid for it...there was no monetary gain involved.

that was what a lot of folks wanted to see happen with the vcvss books...i think this was a perfectly honorable solution to the problem.

and hey, for all we know the person who produced the project may have purchased it back...in that case then there should be no harm done.

John,

I am sorry to hear about your wife's illness. I wish her and yourself the best in dealing with this and for a full and speedy recovery.

You selling your VCB at cost to a fellow board member shows your character - Top Notch! :thumb:

I totally agree, you probably could have made some money on this. By selling it at cost you just gained my respect and showed some real class.

I hope everything turns out alright and you wife recovers soon.

All the best to you and your wife.
I also want to show my deepest respect on your decision of selling tha Valiant Bible at cost. A clear example that one can show some ethics even in the hardest of moments.
Just my 2 cents (of an euro)

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. My wife is doing much better and we are doing better alltogether, just that medical bills were obviously unexpected, and our income has taken a hit since she's not been working and I've been spending a lot of time caring for her (which obviously effects my income). Now that she's doing better, I can spend some time going through the "store" to reduce some of my collection/inventory to help pay off these medical bills. I've learned that many of the things I thought were important to me really aren't anymore.

Thanks again,

John
