The print deal is still good. I'll fund the first 100, and the sales/donations from the 90 or so should fund the 2nd print. But remember, I wiil be switching jobs in the fall of 2007 ( k-8 teacher) and won't have the cash flow like I do now, so you have a deadline of summer of 2007 to get it done...

k-8 teacher? does that mean one class for k thru 8, or just that you'll be teaching classes that will have that range...pretty wild. kudos to you for teaching the future of our nation (make mrf required reading!)

Its a range. I teach 8th grade chemistry right now, but my goal is 3rd and fourth grade. ASU makes you teach the other grades that you don't want, that way you get a feel for all of them. Frackin' 8th graders all talk back.

I've taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for 20 years. You are right on target about 8th graders. They start mutating about a year before and the smartmouth mutation is in full force by their 8th grade year. The nice thing is part of them revert back to human in a few years :thumb: . Unfortunately a few never change back :( .

MoTA,

If your still needing people to pencil the book, you should ask steverino.
He hasn't been on the boards very long, so he probably doesn't know about your Solar project. I don't know if he would have the time, since he does a lot of overtime at his work, but he is a GREAT penciler. I taught him when he was a kid 15 years ago, and he was better than some of the pros then. He used to be able to draw pages very quickly also, don't know if he's as fast as he was but at one time he could do several pages a day. Guys just as good at painting, although a little slower laying down ink. I think he just didn't like inking all that much.

Anyway, you might want to send him a pm. If he was interested & could fit it in his schedule, I guarantee you wouldn't be dissapointed.

-Joe

I checked the website, could not find the page there...

Remember to tell the artists and inkers NOT to draw or ink the word balloons, Adobe Illustrator will do that for us. Like the pro's hehe.

Try again, I uploaded it before making this post.

It's page 37, the long thumbnail at the bottom of the page.

And I will :)

Do you think the balloons on the pages XO did will be a problem? I'm sure when they get inked they can be removed if they are.

Valiant never used thought balloons.

FINALLY, someone commented on an aspect of the script!!! :D

There are some thought balloons spread out across the story, but they serve a purpose.

I mean, normal people don't stand in place when they're alone and talk out loud like they're crazy. They can think once in awhile.

Not a bad suggestion, but wasn't Shooter also anti-caption box except to establish location and time?

I can clean it up, or try to force the text into it. With illustrator you can place balloons behind characters and other balloons. So, its a waste of time for someone to hand draw and ink it when it can be placed in seconds.

What is the status on the cover and its coloring?
I remember that JJ was supposed to color it. Does she have to cover image? We need to have movement on all fronts...

I keep forgetting who was in charge of the cover, heh.

Was it KC Collectibles?

Either way, a few months ago he sent me a scan of the colored cover. It's a small scan.

I'm not sure if he did it himself or if Janet delivered, though.

Go check the page. I just posted the image I got of the cover.

This is the first post I've made in about 6 months. I hope I can make more soon. This project looks pretty wickid. I might want to do some pencils if classes ease up soon. And i finish the 2 projects for other boardmembers of course :thumb: .

Once their done, i'll send you some sketches.

I had captainfishstick color it for me for my ill fated Deathmate Prologue Gold VcVSS project. After I found out that you were using it for your Solar 2004 project I knew I had to find another unpublished piece of artwork for my next project.

I got an email from JayJay two days ago. PM me if you want her new email address but I will also email her myself asking about this project (as a backup plan).

I did find some unpublished artwork, but my next project will have a commission on the backer board. I have it in the works right now... No more details until it is ready to roll though - I don't want to jinx it!
