It's all of the above, Anthony.

It's Shooter leaving, it's Layton hiring flavor of the week creators and it's Nicieza doing VH 2 that made people stop caring.

The 99 event that Nicieza was planning to do had NOTHING to do with what real VALIANT fans (i.e. people that weren't buying to resell their comics or buying because the name on the credit box was hot or popular, but people that were buying because of the stories) really wanted, which was to see what had been hinted at in Unity and Rai #0.

All you have to do to know what real VALIANT fans appreciate from that company is read the latest posts that these fans are putting here.

This thread included... :)

Anthony, once you pay attention to who the characters are, all the answers become clear.

Who was Phil Seleski before the accident that transformed him into Solar?

A comic book fanboy turned scientist because he thought that by becoming a scientist there was a chance that he could become a super hero like the ones the read about in his comics.

He got his wish and regreated it.

So, who created VH 2?

According to Alexander Darque in his conversation with Bloodshot, it was the Man of The Atom.

And what did Alex tell Bloodshot was God's first word?

"Ooops"... as in "damn, look at what I did!"

How do you think VH 2 Magnus would react if he knew that his God was a comic book fanboy with delusions of grandeur who has used them to create at least three different realities?

Once you accept that Solar/Phil/MOTA is nothing more than a geek fanboy, the nature of VH 2 becomes clearer.

VH 2 was nothing more than a DC/Marvel/Image-wanna be universe and considering who created it (Solar, at least within the comic), this aspect fof that universe can't be denied.
