Valiant VS DC VS Marvel

Post by X-O MattOwar »

Now a Valiant VS DC VS Marvel would have been the crossover to end all crossovers.

Which characters would match up and what would be the outcomes?

X-O Vs Superman Vs the Hulk (I'm an X-O superfan so in my mind he's in their league)

Shadowman Vs Batman Vs Captain America

Anybody else think of good match up? I know we have some talented writers on this board. Write the battles up man, should be good reading.
Good skin, gone bad.

Remember that one? Heh.

As for my choice, it would be Solar vs Superman vs Will O The Wisp, a very Solar-esque character.

Or Solar vs Spectre (Hal Jordan) vs Beyonder.

Or Solar vs Sun Eater vs Beyonder by Jim Shooter, heh.

I'd love to see a Superman/Solar amalgam, heh.

Well, I once used a Superman action figure to make a custom Solar the Explorer (Deathmate Solar) fig. Close enough?

Yep, I don't think Luthor could "hang" with the other guys...
but I was picturing some kind of "criminal mastermind" showdown.

I would like to go one step further than Amalgam did, and see Magnus vs Magnus vs Magnus.

Magnus would win over Magnus, but I have to admit neither of them would have much of a chance against Magnus. :)

This is the one (although perhaps the Silver Surfer would be more iconic than Jean).
Archie published The Comet under the Mighty Comics imprint by the way, which is now owned by DC.

Let's have issue 1 on Mars. Dr. Manhattan summons the other earth energy beings to help him to battle a lost race (hibernation) of energy beings from Mars. They seek to conquer the solar system.

I'll concede the point. :)

Not to quibble, but DC licensed them for their !mpact line. Archie still owns the rights and the Mighty characters have popped up a few times since the !mpact experiment folded.

Make it the multiverse [just not one of the Shooter/Starlin monstrosities from U2K, please!] and we're rolling. Manhattan reaches out to Solar, who's busy exploring other realities in his spare time. Manhattan recognizes Phil as the untapped potential he has yet to recognize. Phil is then able to bring in the Comet, Cap'n Atom, and the Surfer.

Who's the master villain behind it all? Given that DC and Marvel are involved, there's always the guy behind the guy factor to work in...

Veridium all the way :)

That's who the character evolved into :)

Although, I think that may have been changed in recent years, I'm not sure.

Ugh.

Get Jim Calafiore started on that. He has a proposal that negates that whole thing. He's rather passionate about the subject. I bought a print off him of the real Metal Men. It's pretty sweet.

Someone has a proposal for a Metal Men series at DC now, I don't remember who.

I hope that whoever ends up doing it doesn't negate but evolves from where the character is right now.

One drop of blood or one hair is all that's needed to clone Magnus.

Someone either at DC or Marvel should create a character whose whole motivation is to undo everything that's ever happened to the characters.

He goes from title to title turning everything back to the way it used to be.

He turns Supergirl into Kara, he turns Veridium into Will Magnus, he turns Batman into Adam West, etc, etc...

It be like Comic Book Guy but done in a Post Crisis way as a serious super villain...

:D

Yeah, that does limit the story.

Ah no. If we're selecting characters, we can also select from when. Human of course. I could consider a mad Doc Magnus and some really challanging creations of his for Magnus to fight. Maybe that could challange even Magneto? How is it, is plutonium magnetic?

/Magnus

PS, if this was really a comic, Calafiore would be great for it.
