New X-O piece

I don't know if General is the best place to show this but here's a new X-O I made yesterday. My son loves the new justice league and I love the design of it so I bought a Green Lantern and made him into X-O animated series figure(I wish there was an X-O animated series). The face is dead on issue 1 still with the beard and grim look. I love those figures and they can be made into anybody.

It looks like a JLA figure. Maybe Aquaman or Green Arrow?

yeah he says that it is a Green Lantern figure. That was the first thing that I thought when I saw it..It is pretty cool looking though..

I have made few custom figures in my day and I am betting that they are made with filmo and assorted other materials. oh and some paint. Go get a some cheapo action figures from wal-mart and then while you are there get an exact-o knife and some model paint...I think that the flat paint works best. and that is about it...the JLA figures are probably really good base figures since that are not that detailed...Um and easy custom that I first made was my very own luke skywalker in stormtrooper outfit..really simple...drop me a PM if you want the directions. I'm glad you like it. Its a GL 10 inch tall body with a retooled JL 10 inch aquaman head (that face is so Aric). I put in the glass face-shield and it still retains its original articulation. My son has me making all kinds of characters out of these for him so I was thinking why not a few Valiant's for me? Is it just me or does almost any character look cool when its done in that Marquette style. X-O lends himself especially to this format. Thanks for compliments

I wonder why Valiant did'nt make something like these back in the day? They would have sold like crazy. Marvel, DC & everyone else was putting their figures out.

I think it was just bad timing. At that period making a low run of an action figure line wasn't done, the thinking was on making money off kids not using it as an target specific item for fans. Now Action Figures are in their Golden Age, cost to make them is down and they're considered to be the next Art Form. Customizers like myself are pushing out the limits making them into more than just toys. Subcultures is really opening doors in that respect. If Valiant started up today the figures would be produced as fast as the comics.
