Bloodshot #46 Newstand found at retail today!

Post by sonicdan »

Ok, I work at a store called Hastings Entertainment. It's sorta a midwest version of Barnes & Noble. We carry a ton o books, newstand comics, magazines, DVDs, video games, music, etc.
I've been buggin our District Manager & Store Manager about increasing our comic selection. Today we got in an assortment of $2.99 Comic 3 packs. You used to see these a lot in the 80s. Anyway 2 of them had Bloodshot #46 newstand versions in them! I could not believe it. I snatched them right up. I also found a couple other goodies like Amazing Spider-Man 276, FF 251, Daredevil 236 (BWS art). It seemed like a weird mix of 80s and 90s books. The sad thing was some of them have a black marker line across the barcode (including the Bloodshots). In any event, I was surprised to see them and was happy to buy some of these up with my discount. :)

Good find, and good work pushing stores to carry more comics! I still see 3-5 packs of comics that include Spawn #1s and early Lee X-Men issues at local bookstores. I guess those titles were so overproduced they will yet be around for a long time.

Bloodshot Newstand version

Post by KO2003 »

Now that you metioned it,I noticed that the two Bloodshot #48's I bought yesterday both are Newstand editions. I thought they were direct editions until I read the caption in the UPC symbol. When everyone mentioned newstand version I thought it was just a plain UPC symbol. Man, Valiant knew how to jazz up everything about their books.

I found 3 more today that were in the middle of some of the other 3-packs.

I'll trade for other newstand editions if anyone is interested! :)
