I hate to pop into this thread and say there is nothing good going on and just be negative but it is hard to be positive as a Valiant fan these days.

Re: Old school fan, new account.
Well, we still have our beloved books that DID come out! I also read that they shot the Shadowman movie, if you go on IMDb there's a little insight info on it. Any other updates from duche mints or anything positive on the media side?

None that I'm aware.
What's new is that Alien Books now publishes VALIANT through a license they acquired from DMG (which purchased VALIANT Entertainment), and will now be publishing them through IDW on account of Diamond's bankruptcy and distributing them through Penguin as per a post I just saw on Facebook.

Always great to have old posters come back. The good news is that the old 90s comics are aging well and even the ones that used to be considered 'bad' back in the day are looking better compared to the modern comics

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

But penguins do not exist in the VALIANT universe per Bob Layton. Dinesh told me that was because of me, heh. But he told me after the comic was published. Had he told me beforehand I'd have asked to be included in a panel.Chiclo wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 8:19 amMuch like Mexico City.ManofTheAtom wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 6:53 amThey indeed do not, lol. Re: Old school fan, new account.
Yeah well, it has been pretty rough for valiant.
I did pick up xo manower when did did dhow up in my pull box, other titles so sporadic ( well to me anyway).
But to be honest - I don't follow valiant comics news, so have no idea what comics where supposed to be in my pull box of - all valiant.
It just needs consistency, building up from one ongoing title again.
The last thing I truly enjoyed was punk mambo and her appearances.
Shame.
And I cannot be bothered with kickstarters

Bloodshot's theatrical release certainly suffered due to COVID.DJMoonChild wrote: Thu Apr 10, 2025 10:54 pmThanks, I witnessed the second death, trust me! We are back in the dead zone of the Acclaim days.(doubles, no prob). It is crazy, I monitor the sales here and there and yes things have dropped drastically but real fans don't let their valiants go easily, even still. I sold a complete set of Turok for $260 plus shipping just a couple weeks ago, for example. I just wish someone else who actually was not all about the corporate greed was in charge, it's like wth happened to all those movie and game projects, action figures, animated..it's been YEARS now..Dinesh brought em back in, what, 2012? They should have been had movies and games and all that out by now..greed is the self sabotage every time with this beloved universe..if only they were smarter and more patient, we would have had all that this whole time since way back.
It was recently re-added to Netflix here and in other countries and it has been performing decently. I've seen it rank as high as fourth place and as low as sixth out of 10.

Re: Old school fan, new account.
Movie was ok but It didn't feel like the bloodshot I grew up on. All they had to do was embrace the best parts of volume 1 and 2. He's Angelo Mortalli, a dead mob hitman who was brought back to life and fed false memories of a soldier named Ray Garrison. It was supposed to be a quest for truth of his true past identity and also reality and ultimately, a redemption story, as he comes to grips with the killer he really once was and becomes a hero for good because of it. A rebirth. They completely dropped the ball, could have been a timeless classic. Also should have been an actor that looked like him, not just a guy because he's already famous..

I do wish it had been more faithful to VH-1.DJMoonChild wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 3:58 am Movie was ok but It didn't feel like the bloodshot I grew up on. Re: Old school fan, new account.
No doubt. The main reason Diesel got the role was for the Chinese market IMO. The Fast and Furious movies were huge over there, just as big as the Marvel movies, so Diesel was about as big of a name as Downey Jr. in that market. I think their hope was to have it be as big as a Marvel or F&F movie in China, but of course Covid hit a month earlier there Feb 2020 and so the theaters were already closed down. Who knows how it would have turned out.DJMoonChild wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 3:58 am Movie was ok but It didn't feel like the bloodshot I grew up on. Give me Scott Adkins with white skin, red circle, and shaved lines in his hair, full on VH1 martial arts action movie heh. I think modern Valiant has always underrated how popular those early Bloodshot stories were, tons of people read those and would have fond memories of seeing that version on the big screen.
