I think the difference between TWD and Marvel and DC properties is that superheroes are more archetypes that can rebooted over and over again and merchandised in ways that a story more about the people dealing with extraordinary circumstances cannot. To that extent, I think that the value of the comics will drop once it's off the air, and even moreso once Kirkman decides he's done with the comic. Maybe not right away and maybe not precipitously, especially because there will be people who paid top dollar that will hold on to the concept of the value of the thing they own, but for value to be maintained, there have to be people who want the thing for sale as much as the person who owns it. Basically I think that the trend of early Valiant books is what we'll see with TWD, but they won't drop off quite so low, but also there will be less reason to expect a revival.

I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.
