Master Darque and Deadside

Master Darque and Deadside
In VH1, Master Darque consumed the necromantic energy released when a person died and called it The Darque Power.
Then, in VH2, when someone died their essence/soul would travel to Deadside, the only-recognized afterlife in that iteration of VALIANT.
I don't recall offhand if Alexander D'arque manipulated necromantic energy similarly to the VH1 version.
Now, in VEI there are both a Master Darque who does manipulate necromantic energy and a Deadside where the souls of the dead travel to.
What, if anything, is the connection between the energy Master Darque draws out of the dead and the souls of the dead in Deadside?
