Bad Idea books in the VALIANT published issues section?

Post by leonmallett »

Would it not be more accurate to simply create a Bad Idea section for issue reviews/discussions etc, and separate them out from the ''VALIANT Published Issues Discussions' section ?

Bad Idea is not VALIANT. They may be VEI alumni, but is is its own set of things right?
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

It's what would be done for Broadway and Future, no?

I agree the same applies to all, they are either VALIANT books or they are not, so therefore don't really seem to belong there.

I had to go to page 2 of the ''VALIANT Published Issues Discussions" section to find the last Bad idea discussion, from June of 2022. Is this really an problem?

Be careful trying to suggest something obvious like Bad Idea conversations not belonging in the Valiant sections... Bad Idea seems to be a protected class here.

You veer dangerously close to heresy against the great Bad Idea, brother slack. You tempt the wrath of the hivemind when you challenge orthodoxy.

With the activity of this board, I think it would be better to consolidate everything down to 4 boards.

Valiant Discussion
Non-Valiant comics discussion
Buy/Sell/Trade
Everything else

The main moderator hasn't even been active for years, most of the subforums go back at 5 or more years in a page or 2 :?

I actually feel like the way the boards has been compartmentalized has hurt discussion. I say, make everything a main thread item and just let people flow.

Also, I did a reread of The Ends from Bad Idea last week an it remains absolutely fantastic.

I agree at this point it needs a consolidation. All the different sub-forums used to make sense, because there actually was enough discussion going on that warranted all those different forums.

Now it's easy enough to just browse the 'New Posts' after a few days or a week. Does there really need to be yet another sub-forum for the Bad Idea 2 posts a year?

I personally view Bad Idea as an extension of Valiant. Kind of like Valiant's Vertigo. In fact, one could argue that they are MORE Valiant than DMG and Alien, seeing as they consist of all of the talent that made Valiant special.

Bottom line, to me, new Valiant and Bad Idea releases are equally as exciting.
