30 Coins (Max Series)

VALIANT did it first.

Paul Giamatti as Master Darque? If they lightened his skin and covered it in tattoos, it could work. He certainly has experience with full body makeup..

I don't know anything about that series, but things like sorcerers, dark magic, and immortals have been done way before Valiant. None of the Valiant concepts were very original IMO, it was the execution of early VH1 that made them so popular and memorable.

If anything, this shows how cool Shadowman could be if done well, which hasn't been the case for a very long time.

The series is about Judas' cursed 30 pieces of silver, which was also the plot of Eternal Warrior Vol. 1 #17, #18, and #19.

Yeah. The first season was great. It's from Spain.

Nice, I have no memory of that storyline but I have the issues, I'll have to check them and the show out.

If you are checking out Eternal Warrior issues, I recommend 32.

:hm: .... :thumb:

Post-Unity and especially Post-Chaos Effect Eternal Warrior is a weak spot for me, I missed a bunch of them the first time around. Also I used to hate Gulacy, now I love him  Going to put it on my read pile.

I'm missing issue 19, but I do have 32. I read it, it seems like a pretty typical post-Chaos Effect right before Birthquake issue. Still ok but sort of treading water, a lot of the early Valiant characteristics being replaced by a more Image-y style. The thing that stood out to me was the crazy amount of teeth gritting lol

I know this was just an ad, but it was the best teeth grit right in the middle of the issue  ULTIMATE TEETH GRIT ACTIVATED

I'm going to read the 30 coins story next, try to find a copy of 19 or read it online. I think I'll like Vanhook better than Ostrander. I love the character, but for some reason I always thought the entire EW concept was little half-baked.
