Bound books

Re: Bound books
I used them as well when I bounded Marvel's entire Star Wars Darth Vader. They did a nice job, but the communication was pretty bad. Still, I have plans to bind most of the VEI, and I'll be using them.mkb28 wrote:I used Houchen Bindery which is just west of Lincoln for all of my bound comic books.TheFerg714 wrote:So I've only bound one series before (Jeff Lemire's Green Arrow), and I just found out that Omaha has it's own bindery and I'm wanting to do more. If I had unlimited money I'd probably be binding most of my VEI series, but that's probably not really an option. I'm considering binding the entire Harbinger Wars 2 event (which I'm assuming is going to be massive) immediately after it's finished.
I would also love to see my entire 50+ issue run of Venditti's X-O in one (or probably two) bound volumes.

Re: Bound books
After showing off my first four bound books earlier, I forgot to come back and show the completed set of six! Here's my binding Magnum Opus (or maybe it should be my Magnus Opus!) - my 4001 AD collection!

And here's my newest two that I just got in the mail yesterday:

These HARD Corps books are actually for sale over in this thread if anybody's interested!

Very cool. I'm collecting Pre-Unity and Unity books....slowly from $1 bins and back issue sales, and I'm hoping to have it ready to be bounded by the middle of next year.

I plan on binding VH2 XO and VH2 Armorines together. Any idea where Armorines takes place in between since X0 shows up in issue 4?

Re: Bound books
Armorines issue #0 was part of X-O Manowar #25, so I'd say that's really where the series would start. Other than some of the crossover fights with HARD Corps (in HARD Corps 17-18), the only other crossover I know of is the Chaos Effect story which would contain X-O 33, and HARD Corps 23 respectively.1st Among Equals wrote:I plan on binding VH2 XO and VH2 Armorines together. Just finished a Stray Bullets bind. I got David Lapham to sketch the end sheets I used for the books. One of the copies is for me and the others are for friends.

I can’t see the images on Tapatalk, but if these were shared Lapham’s twitter recently, this is an amazing set. Seriously awesome!caxiotis wrote:Just finished a Stray Bullets bind. Those are the ones. Thanks man. Also, not sure why the images didn’t load. I will have to figure that outpossumgrease wrote: Sun Aug 02, 2020 10:07 pmI can’t see the images on Tapatalk, but if these were shared Lapham’s twitter recently, this is an amazing set. Re: Bound books
Hmm, I have no idea about Stray Bullets but it looks like Sunshine & Roses has 41 issues in total (which I didn't expect), your first book seems to collect the first 24. Makes me wonder what's in the third volume? As usual my curiosity is killing me.
EDIT: Oh, I just saw these are basically 3 identical copies.
EDIT2: Which is why they're dedicated to different people. It all makes sense now!
ps. I really shouldn't post anything before my first cup of coffee in the morning.

Re: Bound books
Does anyone remember the retailer TPBs from the early 90s, e.g. Man of Steel Raffle Edition, Batman: Blind Justice, Lobo: The Last Czarnian, Spider-Man: Torment, Fantastic Four: Monsters Unleashed, Robocop vs Terminator? Is there any binder here that would be available (paid) to bind some original comics from that era in that format?

I have used Houchen Bindery in Nebraska and they can bind TPB’s and comics.jrnewto wrote: Tue Jun 07, 2022 3:27 am Does anyone remember the retailer TPBs from the early 90s, e.g. Man of Steel Raffle Edition, Batman: Blind Justice, Lobo: The Last Czarnian, Spider-Man: Torment, Fantastic Four: Monsters Unleashed, Robocop vs Terminator? Herring and Robinson is sadly no longer around. I want to finish my bindings almost a decade later. Any recommendations where you guys have gone to for binding as of late?

Re: Bound books
Herring and Robinson sadly closed during COVID and were my go to binders. Anyone have a recommended binder they are using? I stumbled upon WBMBindery who may be similar to Herring. Decent prices at about $30 a book if you bind 5+ more at a time.
