Monster Kill Squad #3 (Bad Idea)
I’ll keep it brief….art by Tomas Giorello very solid…story and dialogue by Christos Gage surprisingly poor!
I don’t know what genre this book is supposed to be, lots of smart arse quips (yawn), confusing dialogue, instantly forgettable characters…just not good.
Side B was a reprint from another book so no redeemable features there.
2/5 - very disappointing release from Bad Idea
The line has been a bit hit and miss, maybe Warren allows too much creative freedom in some instances but given the cost and trouble to get the books they must do better than this.

Really? I think the line has been solid across the board... excluding this and The Lot, and even those weren't that bad.Dallow Spicer1 wrote: Sun Feb 27, 2022 3:38 am The line has been a bit hit and miss, maybe Warren allows too much creative freedom in some instances but given the cost and trouble to get the books they must do better than this.

Eniac - hit
Slay Bells - miss
Tankers - hit
Hank Howard - hit
The Lot - miss
Whalesville - meh
Refuse & Last Resort - hit
Hero Trade Passive / Aggressive - hit
Pyrate Queen - hit
Monster Kill Squad - miss
Odinn’s Eye - haven’t got issue #1 yet but it’s Dysart so presume hit
That’s around 25% miss/meh rate…I’d expect better if I’m honest. Monster Kill Squad and Tankers are too samey, but Tankers dons better.
If you factor in B sides separately then the hit rate goes up as a lot of B sides have been strong.

I mean you and I apparently see things differently lol. I suppose my list comes out to 20% miss-rate, but like you said, if you include the B-sides, the percentage would drop quite a bit. I don't think that's bad at all tbh. Valiant missed every once in a while too.

Yeah, Valiant definitely had its share of misses but I guess the extra difficulty of getting Bad Idea books and the higher cost increases expectations.
