My collection - reunited!
A few of you here know that I've been involved in a very long (3+ years) and ugly (not on my part) divorce. Unfortunately, my collection was a casualty of that process. I haven't seen much of my collection for over three years. Finally, we were reunited this week.
I personally moved 200 boxes. My body is very sore. 65 boxes of slabs alone. It's all hodge podge at this point, and will take me months to organize. Much of it was earmarked for sale, so you might see some listings from me in the coming months. I'll likely forego eBay and post to my website valiant.fan.
I didn't really miss it all that much. I mean, I wanted to organize and purge and enjoy the collection for sure. I even thought about selling the entire lot if I got it back. However, I really do miss all this junk. I like it. It makes me happy. I like walking down memory lane. It's really fun and I won't be selling, at least for now.
This is the first time I will have a dedicated comic room as well. It will be really nice to have the space and means to organize it properly. I'll be updating my valiant.fan site with fun things and rarities. I'll share here as well.
There aren't a lot of places I can post this, but thanks for letting me share. I've got some items that mean a lot to me in this collection - things my uncle gave me, things I saved up for, diamonds I found in the rough, etc. It's been hard having someone hold those hostage for so long, and it's really great to have it back all under one roof.

Congratulations! I remember you mentioning this a couple of years ago and I felt so bad for you then. I can relate to the happiness that it brings to have and hold some of these things. I’m glad you got them back!

Again, very sorry to hear about your divorce.
Very happy to hear you’re reunited with your collection.
Can’t wait to hear about you expanding the collection again.

Congratulations on your new collection then!
It's also 3+ years our beloved Valiant comics have been held hostage somehow.

I remember you discussing this some time back too... Really happy for you getting it back, brother.
Now just go through each book and make sure that she didn't cut them inside the pages with scissors and put them back in the bags...

Congratulations and getting your books back! A comic room is a life affirming accomplishment lol. I have one now and it’s become my office through COVID love sitting surrounded by art books and statues. I have a couple interesting storage solutions too if you are interested. A modded legal size file cabinet held about 15 long boxes for me and I have a sweet IKEA setup that works really well for comics as well.
Wait a minute, wasn’t there a story on here from years ago about an angry EX who gave someone’s collection a golden shower? Might want to carefully check those books

I once bought a small collection only to find out that a cat *SQUEE* on it. It was HORRIBLE. I don't know how I missed it when i bought it and the seller conveniently said nothing. About 2-3 rubbermaid bins. Anyway, I made it work, but there was a lot of rebagging and boarding!

Re: My collection - reunited!
PS - I'll be selling off a lot of stuff once I organize. I've pulled about 5% of my slabs so far and have another 10 boxes to go through. I'll post them here first. Tons of Valiant.
