Monsters by Barry Windsor-Smith
Anyone else excited for this release?
I've been reading about it's history and it's been in the works for 35 years and is BWS first work in like 15 years.
For me it's a day one purchase.

Re: Monsters by Barry Winsor Smith
We will be getting quite a few copies if you can't find one locally or online. I am a HUUUUGE BWS fan, as some here may know and so we ordered pretty heavily. That may mean nothing if it sells as well as I expect it to, but I got at least 20-30 copies coming
BTW, there is an $79.99 SIGNED and NUMBERED edition coming out, I only got one of those coming (GUESS who it's for?)

Definitely picking this up. This seems really cool though I'm not sure what to expect.

Please let us on on if it is any good. I go back and forth on buying it. Mainly because his newer work has never appealed to me
Pull List: I only buy TPB's, HC's and Hellboy comics

Re: Monsters by Barry Winsor Smith
Me too, but it's not for lack of faith for a BWS project, but more like the price point is a little high for the signed trade. I'd like to get a copy, but we will see. Maybe it's not "high". Maybe it's just "high for me right now".aj583 wrote: Wed Apr 21, 2021 2:11 pm I’m on the fence as well. Would love to hear if others liked it.

Re: Monsters by Barry Winsor Smith
Oh well that means that I missed the boat then too. No problem, in that case, decision made by attrition. It really is too bad that I stalled because of the price point - I have a modest collection of premium trades with signed nameplates and whatnot.nycjadie wrote: Thu Apr 22, 2021 1:18 pmI tried to get a signed versions, but could not. Re: Monsters by Barry Winsor Smith
My copy I had shipped is in bad shape and has a lot of damage. Problem is Amazon Canada does not have it in stock for a replacement. I'm torn over sending it back for a refund as I REALLY want to read it but don't want to pay full price for a damaged book.

Re: Monsters by Barry Winsor Smith
Sting ~ was that a signed edition that was damaged?
Seriously on the fence about buying the signed edition, found a copy at rrp.
I can get the normal hardcover for £20, the signed is £30 more.
I mean to get his signature now is impossible. Need a quick review of the Hardcover first, have you read it yet Sting?

I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Re: Monsters by Barry Winsor Smith
I've just finished and it's incredible. I thought BWS was a great artist but he is an even better writer. I would go for the signed edition. You won't regret it, once you read it you will cherish having a signed copy. If you don't I'll happily buy it from you for what you paid!
