Started reading Gun Fury by Aircel yesterday, company has a really weird history. That being said, Gun Fury is funny as hell and is a pretty good satire of the 80's comic book industry, even going as far as to hang X-men and Chris Claremont out to dry

Yep, I have a complete set, it's enjoyable. I think Loebs' art is a little unusual, but it's a good read.

I just ordered a complete run of The American 1-8. That's the Dark Horse series from 1987. I'm assuming it's black and white. I'm mad at myself for not ordering a copy of Journey #1 so I could give that a try.

I received my run of The American, published by Dark Horse, circa 1987. I had no idea it would immediately become what I consider to be one of the best comic stories I have ever read.

Hmmm, I know Redfox #1 was hot back in the days of the Black and White Explosion, but I certainly can't speak for the quality of it having never read it. It looks like they were trying to go for an early Cerebus feel with the book, with Redfox being similar to Red Sonja/Red Sophia. Harrier also put out Eddie Campbell's Bacchus before Campbell started putting it out himself. Those would probably be the only titles I would personally be interested in for Harrier. What books are you looking at getting?

Yeah, Cerebus is not a book you want to just buy a random issue of, I found that out myself when I first got into the book. I picked up a copy of Cerebus #100 when it first came out, thinking it might be a good jumping on point, but it really made no sense to me since I hadn't read any other issues. I would start with #1, the first 25 issues are very accessible as the book started out as a Barry Windsor-Smith Conan parody book. I think the best way to enjoy Cerebus is to watch it progress into what it became later. A challenging read and you may well be offended by some of Sim's views at some point as many were, but I think it's a very rewarding read.

Thanks. One book of theirs I'm interested in is Conqueror. It's heavily influenced by Star Trek and I want to see the take the had on it. Bacchus worked on at least one Conqueror book, too.

I've not been on here in awhile and just stumbled on this thread. It's great! My family has been into outsider art my entire life and I'm drawn to that quality in small publishers with a "homemade" feel, such as L.I.F.E. Brigade, M.E. Comix's T-Bird Chronicles & Peter Risk Monster Masher. I'm into the B&W and those that produced in color.

There is also the stuff that is sort of outsider but more accomplished like Barbaric Tales from Pyramid Comics or Ken Landgraf's out put.

The '90s has some interesting self-published B&W stuff as well but much of it is sort of an Image knock off.

I like that true $0.25-$1 box stuff. The stories aren't great but I find the art interesting. Although, Landgraf's stuff seems to no longer be $1 box. Fortunately, was able to find a few thing before the price went up.

Anyhow, if anyone has any of those semi self-published outsider art feel comics and would be interested in selling or trading, let me know!
