Do you think 'catsuit' is an appropriate term for Dr Mirage?
I mean, for her costume.
I've seen some stuff suggesting that VEI isn't really doing eye candy females, then I saw a new Dr Mirage cover

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Why am I seeing this in the OP's initial thread now?

Are you referring to the "image won't display" type text? I'm also trying to figure out why I get thatIMJ wrote:Why am I seeing this in the OP's initial thread now?

Then, why even post in this thread? Your comment is unnecessary and off topic. It made ZERO effort to answer the OP's actual question.nonplayer wrote:Don't care about Dr mirage
Anyway, to actually answer the OP's question... I'd just call it a jumpsuit.

Re: Do you think 'catsuit' is an appropriate term for Dr Mir
Er... I guess so?
What are the alternatives? Jumpsuit? Romper? Onesie?
I mean, narratively it's supposed to act as 'supernatural armour' for her, so do we just call it 'armour'?
This is a genuinely difficult question
I'd agree that VEI don't seem to have really gone in for 'eye candy' females yet, but I think some artists on some covers for various titles have gone in for the sexy angle from time to time.

Re: Do you think 'catsuit' is an appropriate term for Dr Mir
Star Trek 7 of 9 outfit was referred to as a catsuit. It is my most immediate association with that term. I was under the impression a catsuit wasn't necessarily felineslym2none wrote:If it doesn't have ears and a tail, then I say no.

Greg, I'm still seeing the red "you don't have permission to see this image" text. I dunno why

Somewhere on Twitter Mags Visaggio is beating her/his gender fluid head, preparing to reap all available word vomit in the form of social justice regarding the never-ending patriarchy upon you for making such comparisons.Oxmyx wrote:Star Trek 7 of 9 outfit was referred to as a catsuit. That's my understanding of the term. A spandex onesie -- although I like the connotation of 'romper'Oxmyx wrote:I was under the impression a catsuit wasn't necessarily feline

The earliest association I know of for the term is Emma Peel from the Avengers and she certainly was not feline themed.

You have me curious to the etymology of the phrase - did it begin referring to a cat costume?slym2none wrote:Jesus H. Christ, do people not know what a joke is? (Apparently not.)
