Looking at Vin Diesel on the cover of this book.... it appears Bloodshot will be bald ("Baldshot").

Was joking at the LCS that these have become a thing, like the X-Men Dark Phoenix Saga. Hilarious.

352 pages?? That proves the storyline must suck!! Anything under 355 pages can’t be any good. Doom. Gloom.
And a few weeks before the release, just enough to spoil the storyline? Doom! Gloom!

Thanks for sharing.
That cover is amazing in design, you can see some "high-tech" stuff written and Bloodshot has two bullet holes in his chest.
Nanites advertised right.

Better to have a movie novelization than not have a movie novelization, I suppose.

It's a great way to see what was written and not filmed, what was changed, and to clarify extra details like what someone was thinking or how something was described differently "in the novelization".jmatt wrote:Better to have a movie novelization than not have a movie novelization, I suppose.
Before Disney got Star Wars, the novelizations for the prequels were available in book stores (or Amazon) about two weeks before the movies. I'm sure lots of people would hate that, but it was fun to enjoy audience reactions to things I had read even before opening night.

I read one of those for Star Wars III, and it was quite solid. The final fight was better in the book, as it really let you look at Anakin's rage, and exactly what he was feeling. Added to the movie.greg wrote:It's a great way to see what was written and not filmed, what was changed, and to clarify extra details like what someone was thinking or how something was described differently "in the novelization".jmatt wrote:Better to have a movie novelization than not have a movie novelization, I suppose.

This is the most important comment for me. Good eye, man! But I notice the the link graphic says COVER NOT FINAL... SOLICITATION PURPOSES ONLY or somesuch so there is still hope. If it gets added, I may buy a copy.TheeBaldMoose wrote:and not a Valiant symbol to be found, anywhere!
So, I was thinking...I wonder when the graphic novel will be coming out

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Re: Bloodshot - The Official Movie Novelization
I've read a ton of novelization and 100% agree. Oftentimes the books provide added depth and insight into the story which doesn't make the cut in the film. I know with the Star Wars books there's even additional scenes not featured in the film too. I'm not familiar with the author but will def be picking this upgreg wrote:It's a great way to see what was written and not filmed, what was changed, and to clarify extra details like what someone was thinking or how something was described differently "in the novelization".jmatt wrote:Better to have a movie novelization than not have a movie novelization, I suppose.

Re: Bloodshot - The Official Movie Novelization
Right - the only question is whether to read the novelizations before or after seeing the movie. I'm a fan of enjoying things as they are released (or in the same order, if I start them later), so that will mean reading the Bloodshot novelization before seeing the movie.Bl00dsh0t wrote:I've read a ton of novelization and 100% agree. Re: Bloodshot - The Official Movie Novelization
Ya can't read before. Movies can't really convey internal dialogue and nuance like a book can. And then the movie will seem shallow because you have a yardstick for it.greg wrote:Right - the only question is whether to read the novelizations before or after seeing the movie. I must read it before. It is being released before. Who lets their dessert sit for a couple weeks while they wait on an aged steak?jmatt wrote:Ya can't read before. Re: Bloodshot - The Official Movie Novelization
This novel thing is neat - it lends credibility to the "Summer fun sci-fi hype movie".greg wrote:It's a great way to see what was written and not filmed, what was changed, and to clarify extra details like what someone was thinking or how something was described differently "in the novelization".jmatt wrote:Better to have a movie novelization than not have a movie novelization, I suppose.

I remember when this was done with The Temple of Doom - the novel had waxy picture pages in the middle of the book with stills from the movie. And then they did this with Iron Man and that book had several little nuggets that didn't make it into the flick.
It's cool that Bloodshot is joining the ranks of legit flicks with marketing and apocrypha. Now all we need is a G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary-style 3 3/4" action figure line and I'd suddenly be all-in.
