Ibero, thanks for finding that. It's a nice touch going Gold Key Lost Valley
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?
Re: New Turok Videogame
Cool, probably far-fetched but it makes me hope Universal realizes that the Gold Key characters generally have potential.

Well, I think they blew it, but they never owned them, anyway. They just license the characters. Or licensed? Not sure what the current status is.Oxmyx wrote:Universal owns the Gold Key Three now? Dynamite (sucks!) ...er...blew it?

Re: New Turok Videogame
Dynamite recently published a mini featuring one of the GK3, so their license had to have been active recently. But I also get the feeling that they will do a flurry of activity on a title right before their license runs out just to squeeze out a few more nickels while they still can.magnusr wrote:Well, I think they blew it, but they never owned them, anyway. Re: New Turok Videogame
So, is Universal the owner or another licensee? And it is possible the Dynamite license agreement somehow doesn't apply to video games, allowing both to be made?

Re: New Turok Videogame
Not only possible but likely. It is common to license properties in a single medium - comic books, video games, tv, movies, animated cartoons, prose novels - and even offer different licenses for different media of the same property to different companies at the same time.Oxmyx wrote:So, is Universal the owner or another licensee? I don't know if Universal is the ultimate license holder of these properties. If I remember correctly, the Gold Key properties ended up under the Classic Media banner (same as Defiant and maybe Broadway?) which at one point was part of the Random House portfolio but I remember reading recently that Classic Media may have been sold. Honestly, IP ownership is byzantine even in the best case scenarios and I have heard lawyers shudder and speak of IP law as akin to the Gordian knot.

Looks like it would make a cute mobile game.
