I would say that Allstar Superman does it too - it just takes twelve or whatever issues to pull if off whereas Action #775 does it in one.GGSAE wrote:IMJ wrote:I always thought Action 775 has been seriously undervalued for a long time. I have thought this for years, it's great to see other feel the same way.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
I miss the days when back issues became valuable due to story content or the company doing something with an obscure character. A number of years back, Fantomex was a break out in Uncanny X-Force, his 1st appearance started to get some heat, and then Marvel ruined that by killling the character.IMJ wrote:People are always looking for the next best first app to burst. I can't wait for he day where books take off in value because of amazing and legendary story content.... Superman Annual #11, Action Comics #775 and as a run [Superman (Volume 2) #44 | Adventures of Superman #467 | Action Comics #654] are examples of Superman books that should be market movers basically forever because of the story content, and basically nothing to do with first appearances (disregarding the first apps in AC #775).ShadowTuga wrote:Is Binary part of the MCU plans for Carol?grendeljd wrote:maraxusofkeld wrote:Uncanny X-Men #164 is gaining heat as the first Carol Danvers as Binary. Sell em quick!![]()
I think I actually have two copies of that issue - although I’m certain one of them is really beat up...
Books like these would be great hoard books if the market spent more time recognizing content rather than only recognizing first apps.....

Probably the most iconic Superman story for a lot of folks. Absolute classic and a must read for any comic book fan.

It's the first appearance of the Elite, which is a group of super powered beings, that take a more hard nosed approach on justice than Superman.

I think that one of the DC Animated movies adapted it, although I can't remember the name of it atm...StarBrand wrote:Thanks!

Ultimate Fallout 4 is on fire. Let's see what this first print, currently at $71, ends at.

I wonder about those polybags with that fold in the middle, though ... any chance that could crease the book with long-term storage?
Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
Not sure about your question. I think it might be cool to take profits and sell half your copies now and hold the rest. Hard to say of they’ll drop after the movie buzz or continue climbing.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
My concern is the little seam where the polybag is sealed together. It looks like it could indent the cover but old books like X-Force 1 had the same kind of bag. Did any of those books get damaged by the bag?StarBrand wrote:Not sure about your question. I think it might be cool to take profits and sell half your copies now and hold the rest. I think there is a good possibility that Miles Morales will someday be the official Spider-Man for a whole generation of readers and movie-goers. Nothing Marvel does surprises me anymore, even with their flagship characters. Not a certainty, but this could end up being an extremely important book someday.
I'm not even sure how many copies of this book I have, but that was a fun month when you and I saw this coming and were stocking up.
Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
Yeah, I just sold the last of mine. That is possibly a legitimate concern you have with the bag. I've always felt this would be the official Spider-Man of at least a large number of folks.depluto wrote:My concern is the little seam where the polybag is sealed together. Here's one of my early comments on Ultimate Fallout 4 from this thread in 2011. Depluto and I were discussing it favorably back then.StarBrand wrote:Less than 15 minutes after I posted this, they sold 100 copies of this book to one buyer at 2.24 each. Quite a sale.StarBrand wrote:They listed something like 800 total Ultimate Comics Fallout 4s, and have now dropped the price on that book from 3.45 to 2.24.

Hey guys for sure check your polybags..they do leave creases. I have seen some pressed out, but the absolutely do. I have seen this also on the xo books 48-50. I saw it on x force books but not really on Spider Man run, I have no idea why.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
It appears Marvel Essential Spider-Man 9 might be difficult to find. If anyone knows where I can get a copy at a price in line with the others from that series please lmk. Thanks.

Catwoman 7 Oliver variant seems hot. Idk why! How’s that for breaking comic book news?

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era
I guess writer Donnie Cates has a cult following regarding his Venom and Carnage books or material or something, and he does a lot of unique stuff with the symbiotes, which I guess at one point included adding batwings onto the Venom symbiote. The market picked up on this and someone figured out that Venom had wings in the Rune /Venom Crossover (probably because Rune had wings - I have two copies of that book and I've never read it), and the market popped on it a few months back.StarBrand wrote:First winged Venom?
