I had heard that they were doing a section dedicated to Robotech, obviously I didn't go. I know some of you went, did anyone check it out? What was it like?

Welcome to wherever you are.

I didn't get into Robotech until very recently. My college roommate obtained the original American Macross dub by Harmony Gold back in 1998 and showed it to me. I was intrigued, and ended up buying the ADV DVDs when they came out a few years ago, as a result. Both my wife and I got majorly hooked, though neither of us were ever able to get through the Masters series. It seriously digusts me to see how ADV has been cashing in on those DVDs though. They've now repackaged/retooled those DVDs at least four times in the past three years, and attempted to sell the original Japanese versions of Mospeda and Southern Cross on the side. It's disgusting. I bought the original ADV releases and I'm sticking with them.

I can't handle the original Macross score. I hear "Will you love me tomorrow? Ma-cross" and just burst out laughing. I hear there are many elements of the original that are better (and your set definitely has the superb restoration technology behind it) but I just love the Robotech voice talents. Plus, you gotta admit, "We Will Win" is a much catchier tune than "My boyfriend is a pilot".xounitylord wrote:Cool, I've got the Macross box from TDK. That suits me just fine.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Hey, I remember those episodes as well, the robo fell on the four guys sitting there laughing at the robot that fell.
It was a great episode! A real classic. I also saw the one where the crew members of the SDF-1 hung a crew member out as a traitor, even though he had proof that he wasn't? That one ruled with the best of them! It's only available in the director's cut!
